At Speedplay, we didn’t set out to improve conventional pedal designs. We knew immediately

that the only way to make a substantive leap in pedal performance was to reinvent the entire

system. So we did, and the results speak for themselves. From cleat to spindle, no other pedal

DuAL-SIDED PERFORMANCE – With our revolutionary dual-sided design, there’s no

fumbling, kicking or searching for the “right” side of the pedal. Just step down on the self-

locating cleat and you’re in.

LIGHtER wEIGHt – By locating the retention mechanism in the cleat instead of the pedal,

we were able to offer dual-sided performance without the weight of redundant mechanisms.

MICRO-ADjuStAbLE FLOAt – Speedplay Zeros and Syzr pedal systems allow rotational

float to be micro-adjusted throughout the float range or set to a fixed position. The random

rotational “slop” and ambiguous connection that pass for float in other pedals and cleats simply

can’t compare.

In the quest for race-day performance, we pulled out all the stops and distilled the

Speedplay Zero’s race-proven design down to its explosive essence. The result is

the Nanogram Zero, the lightest racing pedal in the peloton.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. The Speedplay Zero’s dual-sided entry allows you

to step and go without a second thought, eliminating the time-wasting fumbling, kicking and

searching you get with single-sided pedals. The Zero also takes Speedplay’s trademark float to

the next level with precision adjustment options unmatched by any other pedal design. Fore-

aft, side-to-side and rotational foot positions can each be adjusted independently. And unlike

traditional one-piece cleats, each of the three critical adjustments of Zero cleats can be modified

Special ceramic roller-cam contacts were developed for Syzr cleats to ensure consistent release in wet or

muddy conditions. Instead of the usual metal-to-metal connection that allows other pedals to seize during

release, Syzr cleats feature ceramic roller-cams that do not seize when wet because they roll. In addition to

improving consistency of release, the ceramic roller-cams provide exceptional, long-term durability.

Syzr pedals use precision needle and cartridge bearings and feature a convenient built-in grease-port for

easy routine maintenance. Syzr cleats are compatible with all recessed 2-hole shoe mounts, and unlike some

systems, Syzr pedals will not cause damage to your shoes.

Syzr pedals are available in a choice of stainless steel or titanium spindles and will offer a wide range of

custom-fit options. As with all Speedplay Pedal Systems, local manufacturing is a priority, so many of the

Syzr’s components are produced in the US and then hand-assembled at Speedplay in San Diego, California.

At Speedplay, we were born with the need for speed – both on-road and off. After inventing the most technically-advanced road

pedals, we set out to develop a state-of-the-art, off-road pedal system that is equally capable on the road. Speedplay’s new Syzr

is the culmination of a multi-year R&D effort to develop the ultimate, made-to-go-anywhere clipless pedal system.

We started by making Syzr Pedal Systems transfer power more efficiently. Rider power is delivered to the Syzr pedal directly

through the cleat, not through the flexible rubber lugs of the shoe sole. This improved design for transferring power ensures that

no rider energy is lost during transmission. We also improved the precision of the pedal/cleat connection to eliminate the slop and

lateral instability common to off-road pedals.

Another first for off-road pedals is the Syzr’s patented, micro-adjustable float technology. By designing a pivot mechanism directly

into the cleat, the Syzr is the only off-road pedal system to provide a user-customizable, 10-degree range of float. Cleat set-up is

easier too since there is no need to reposition the cleat to make angular adjustments.

To make Syzr pedals easier to engage, Syzr cleats feature proprietary Funnel Guides that steer the cleat into the pedal’s latch

mechanism. Two wing-shaped Funnel Guides at the front of each cleat effectively increase the size of the target area to facilitate

easier engagement. Additionally, engagement security has been optimized by reversing the typical orientation of the pedal’s latch

mechanism. The Syzr’s new latch design virtually prevents inadvertent release when pulling hard on the pedals.

The Frog takes Speedplay’s proven performance beyond the pavement, but that’s only the

beginning. Originally created as a mountain bike pedal, the Frog has also gained a loyal

following among road cyclists and commuters who prefer recessed, walkable cleats. The Frog

cleat is virtually immune to clogging because debris is pushed out the back when you engage

the pedal. The Frog is the easiest MTB pedal to engage and release, yet it holds securely over

any terrain. For riders who want intuitive clipless performance no matter where they ride, the

lightweight Speedplay Frog is ready to roll.

Berms. Big hits. Bomb-drops-to-flat. Downhill mountain bike racing can deal out heavy punishment. Good thing the Speedplay

Drillium pedal is built to handle top-to-bottom assaults. The stylish CNC-machined Drillium pedal’s slant-parallelogram design

guides your foot quickly into the optimum position, while the huge surface area provides a bigger target, more comfort and better

power transmission. The thin, concave body profile further increases support and delivers white-knuckle grip. For extra bite, there

are 20 replaceable stainless steel traction pins on each pedal. We drilled out the body to optimize the strength-to-weight ratio,

then we mounted it all on a 12mm forged alloy-steel spindle that can handle the hardest landings. At only 565g per pair,

the Drillium pedals are built to fly down the sketchiest terrain, or high above it. With its hard-anodized finish and

laser-etched logos, the Drillium is the super-premium platform for downhill destroyers, BMX pilots and

styled-out beach cruisers.
