How are Pragma’sSolutions Different?

We are pioneering the use of additive manufacturing

in the form of 3D metal printing to develop our range of

M-Bubble products. Utilising advanced design and

manufacturing processes, our technology is capable of

delivering industry leading expansion ratios.

We have shown through internal testing

that over 300% expansion is achievable,

which could not be delivered by

traditional subtractive machining

methods. Further benefits of additive

manufacture include the capability to

produce designs with a greater intrinsic

strength capable of withstanding

higher pressures.

Other key benefits of metal printing that

make it attractive for the development of

M-Bubble expansion technology are

significantly reduced manufacturing

cost of complex parts when compared

to traditional methods, faster

prototyping of specific engineered

solutions and the repeatability of the

manufacturing process.

This is the ideal choice for a design

which is based upon the novel idea

of an inflatable metal bubble. The

design allows impressive inflation

capability whilst the manufacturing

process imparts strength and

durability.

Introducing Pragma’sIndustry Leading M-BubbleExpansion Technology Range

Expansion technology allows products to be

deployed downhole as compact devices, travelling

through narrow tubing, valves and other restrictions,

to be precisely located in the well before expansion is

activated to set their position. The technology can be

used to support many applications across the well

lifecycle from construction to abandonment.

Historically, expansion solutions have involved the use of subtractive

machined inflatables or swellable packers which swell on contact with fluids.

More recently, as the industry looks to address more demanding production

challenges, there have been moves to develop products which are stronger,

more able to operate at higher pressure and have greater expansion ratios.

However, the current market availability and technical capability of such

products remains limited.

Why do we need it?

M-Bubble Bridge Plug (MBBP)

Our pack-offs, patches and straddles can be used for isolating

reservoir zones to prevent water, gas or sand ingress in the

lower completion.

The pack-off range can also be used for zonal treating

operations such as scale squeezes, perforation washes or flow

testing on coiled tubing. Our plug range has been developed

for water/gas shut off, temporary and permanent

abandonment applications or used to support cement plug or

cement retainer installation.

Current products include the M-Bubble Bridge Plug

(MBBP) and the Thru-Tubing Expandable Patch (TEP).

The latter technology is being developed in collaboration

with a Middle East national oil company.

Technology Developmentand Commercialisation

Pragma has developed downhole technology to

enhance production profiles in conventional to

steam assisted recovery applications.

We intend to deliver this technology to market via both operator and

service company partnership agreements, allowing global market

access to industry leading technology. This will increase product availability

and dramatically reduce cost.
