HIGH CAPACITY BEARINGS

Comparatively large, high capacity, dynamicallyrated, double sealed roller bearings were designedby INA in cooperation with a major internationallyknown crane manufacturer. Especially for wire ropesheaves, the bearings themselves, without the useof friction washers, allow for up to 2º ofsideload/fleet angle. Many block manufacturersmay publish a 2º allowable fleet angle on thesheaves in their blocks while using bearings forwhich the manufacturer allows for between 0º and.5º of fleet angle.

RopeBlock’s use of this special bearing allows forup to 8x the fleet angle without the use of frictionwashers. Friction washers are only used on singlesheave blocks to center the sheave.

CENTER PIN

RopeBlocks Crane Block Center Pins are thelargest in the industry, ranging from 1.43X to2.25X larger than competitors. This greateramount of surface area provides greatly re-duced bearing pressures and radial loadsagainst the pin providing greatly improvedoverall block life.

WIRE ROPE SHEAVES

Sheaves are designed to provide optimal D/dratios for even the most modern high perform-ance wire rope constructions. The diametersof these sheaves are called out by actual treaddiameter rather than nominal O.D. for moreaccuracy in ascertaining wire rope compatibil-ity. Groove profiles and rim angles are de-signed to maximize wire rope life by reducingthe adverse impacts of wire rope entry to andexit from the sheave groove.

Standard and Fast-Reeve models available from8 to 350 ton capacities.

Custom designs and twin blocks available from 5 to 1,600 ton capacities.

4:1 Design Factor

Ultra-Compact Fast Reeve and Quick Removable Cheek Weight models available.

LOAD HOOK AND TRUNNION

• Manufactured to DIN standard 15400 using I-Beam design providing stress equalizationthroughout hook.

• All hooks are forged, proof loaded, charpy im-pact tested (at -4ºF), ultrasonic tested andmagnetic particle inspected to insure quality.Certifications are thereafter provided individ-ually with each hook.

• Special non-galling DIN standard threadingis used on hook shanks to facilitate easy re-moval and inspection of all load bearinghook sections in conformance with ANSIB30.20.

• All hooks now have the heavy duty lockinglatch pictured on center block with lockingpin storage location.

• Blocks in sizes 40 ton+ are provided withstandard 4-position locking mechanism onthe trunnion. This locking mechanism is con-structed from removable non-welded compo-nents to facilitate repair.

• Hook turns on recessed thrust bearing, pro-tecting bearings from dirt and moisture andis locked in place with bolted keyway.

• Trunnion built with protected grease fittingsfor wear reducing journals.

BLOCK IDENTIFICATION

It may seem like a small matter, but rather thanusing a short lived tag to provide necessary blockidentification information. Each block is perma-nently stamped with necessary identification infor-mation. The stamping includes:

Model NumberCertification NumberWorking LoadProof LoadActual WeightDate of Manufacture

Each individual component is also marked withstamped identification codes.

Standard machined swivel eye (shown above) acceptsshackle pin. Upset style (shown at left) accepts shacklebail. The upset eye, thereby, reduces additional neces-sary hardware requirements.

Standard capacities from 22-150 ton capacities up to350 ton capacities available.

• Blocks designed with safety factor 4:1.• All blocks individually proof tested and stamped withcertification number, model number, proof load, work-ing load, actual weight and date of manufacture.

• Manufactured from high tensile alloy steel for lightweight / high capacity ratio.

• Sheave running on lubricated bronze bushing.• Open swivel with bronze thrust bearing lubricatedthrough protected grease nipple.

•Available with following fittings: • Machined Swivel Stud Eye with Shackle with bronze thrust bearing lubricated through protected grease nipple. • Standard machined oblong-swivel eye accepts shackle pin (standard) or shackle ear (upset) directly into spreader bar or lifting fixture. • Or available with swivel hook.• Standard capacity ranges from 22-150T. Capacities upto 350T available.

• Delivered edge free with a durable 2-part, high qualityyellow finish.

• Overhaul Balls designed with safety factor 4:1 inload group 1BM acc. DIN 15400.

• Standard suitable for up to minus 20ºC applica-tions. Minus 40ºC available on request.

• All balls individually proof tested – Stamped withcertification number, model number, proof load, working load, actual weight and date of mgf.

• Top or bottom swiveling on Class 1, high capacity, greased and easy running roller thrust bearing.
