  • Hi, my name is Squirmy! I am the leopard gecko that gets to live at Our Buddy’s Place!

  • My class decorated my home so wonderfully!

They made sure I had the proper sand to be able to roam comfortably and plenty left over to be able to burrow as I do in the wild. How thoughtful!

They also made sure I always have fresh, damp terrarium moss for when I want a humid place to hide.

I also have a rock enclosure for hiding in which I am also able to climb on. This is where I access my water dish.

In the corner is my food dish providing me with meal worms for when I get hungry and the pesky crickets are hiding from me!

Last but not least, I have a plant like the ones I would see in the wild to help me feel more comfortable.

    My habitat

    has lights

    that are

    used to

    keep me

    warm.

  • The first thing my teacher taught her class is what I like to eat. Although crickets are my favorite food, my lizard relatives (such as my cousin Iggy the Iguana) LOVE fruits and veggies!

The kids did a super fun project making some lizard pizzas!

The kids used grocery store sale ads to cut out pictures of fruits and veggies that my lizard relatives enjoy eating and made different types of pizzas.

Although I am not the type of lizard that likes fruits and veggies, the pizzas still looked so yummy!

    This is a

    cricket keeper

    used to

    preserve my

    live food.

My favorite foods are live crickets and

    the occasional dried meal worm!

  • The best part of the day for the kids is watching me hunt for my food! Even if I don’t always catch something, they still love to see me in action!

    Press play,

    we’re videos!

  • My teacher asked her class to choose some things from around the room

to use as measuring tools to compare to how big I can grow!

    (up to 12 inches)

The kids used different items such as:

    1 Piece of ribbon

    5 Stacking cups

    5 Counting bears

    1 Wooden rectangle building block

  • My teacher explained to her

class that due to the shape of my “toes”

this is what my tracks would look

    like.

  • The class also used their creativity

and created some things on their own.

How awesome! This is a leopard

    gecko in a

    desert

    habitat!

    This is a

    lizard

    made from

    Kinex!

  • Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to learn a little more about me!

    Until next time,

    -Squirmy
