Efficiency"Modern gasoline engines have an average efficiency of about 25 to 30% when used to power an automobile. In other words, of the total heat energy of gasoline, 70 to 75% is

rejected (as heat) in the exhaust or consumed by the motor (friction, air turbulence, heat through the cylinder walls or cylinder head, and work used to turn engine equipment and appliances such as water and oil pumps and electrical generator), and only about 25% of

energy moves the vehicle."

3

The Benefits of HHO

CombustionAdding the HHO gas to the air intake increases the efficiency. It creates an atmosphere that allows the gasoline to burn cleaner and more efficiently, allowing the engine to require less fuel whilst operating smoother and producing less greenhouse gas.

Fuel EconomyAdding HHO to your intake will rarely improve your gas mileage without modifying your cars sensors to reflect the addition of the HHO gas. As you could imagine, the sensors and computer(s) in your car are not designed to automatically detect and utilize HHO gas. There are a variety of simple sensor adjustors that help your engine take advantage of the HHO gas.

Gains in Mileage• You could gain between 30% - 50% for most gas/petrol driven cars.• Diesel engines can get greater efficiency still, 40% - 70% is not

uncommon.• The gains are largely dependent on the make of your vehicle and

engine size. The bigger the engine, the greater the gains that will be seen. These gains will be achieved with no modifications to your engine.

4

The Benefits of HHO

Increased Power• Your engine will run much smoother with an increase in power of

about 10% because of the better combustion, as a result of the combination of fuel and HHO (oxyhydrogen) being burnt together.

• HHO, Oxyhydrogen Burns 200 times faster than petrol/gasoline helping your fuels burn rate increase resulting in a more complete burn. This actually makes your engine run coolerwhich also means less engine wear.

• The better burn of your fuel is what gives the economy.

Cleaner Engine• Carbon deposits will be cleaned out of your engine

(piston tops and valves, etc) when using HHO gas.• Your spark plugs will never oil up, giving a better spark.• Your engine oil will not degrade so fast as the engine runs

cooler and with less carbon deposits helping the oil retain its composure.

• Your Catalytic converters lifespan will be increased.• Your vehicles engine life will increase significantly due to

the reduced engine wear.

Helping the Environment• When you burn HHO, your emissions will change for the

better. Increased Oxygen and decreased harmful gasses will help contribute to a safer cleaner environment.

• The ECU is the key to getting the most out of your HHO installation. EFIE's and O2 sensor modifications are inelegant and insufficient when it comes to getting your ECU to work with HHO.

• The Volo chip has been specifically tuned for the needs of HHO generator equipped vehicles. The FS2 is dynamic - which means the FS2 considers oxygen levels in the exhaust, along with engine speed and load, intake air temperature and volume, and many other variables to determine the most efficient fuel delivery rate and timing at up to 256 separate load points and 8 performance maps.

• Without the adjustments made by the FS2 O2 sensors the ECU will detect HHO as excessive oxygen and will compensate by enriching the fuel mixture and will defeat any fuel savings and in some cases will result in worse fuel economy.

Page 6: HHO - AutoHydrogen · • HHO generators generate heat and are often enclosed in protective materials that prevent heat for dissipating

• When using HHO as a fuel supplement, the FS2 will adjust fuel delivery and timing to optimize efficiency

• When HHO is disabled, the FS2 will automatically re-adjust and switch to highly efficient, non-HHO enhanced maps.

• Requires 1-3 min at temp idle for reset cycle followed by 120 miles for learning

• Requires reset after loss of power

• Detects MAF & O2 levels to determine if HHO is present

• Detects traffic caused by emissions testing and disables device

Electrolyte• The electrolyte acts as an ionizer for conduction of the electricity;

whereas the nickel in stainless steel acts as the catalyst.

• Two choices⁻ Potassium Hydroxide... KOH - Used in soap making

⁻ Sodium Hydroxide/ Lye... NaOH - Used to open drains

• You will only need 1 liter of electrolyte water to initialize any of our Hexagon Dry Cells including filling our electrolyte tank.

• Each HHO Cell size has a maximum amperage rating. With an electrolyte concentration of 3% they will go just under that rating and with 5% just over.

• For a 5% solution pour a 50g satchel of electrolyte into 950 ml's of distilled water.

• Always store electrolyte in a sturdy, air-tight container which is clearly labeled. Premix by adding electrolyte to distilled water.

ElectrolyteElectrolyte is not lost - If you can't get to the desired amperage add small amounts of additional electrolyte till the amperage is reached or the cell does not respond to additional electrolyte because the concentration is too high. The cell will usually keep responding until you reach 28% concentration (KOH).

Problem• To use gravity to refill the HHO cell the electrolyte tank must be located at least 20 cm above the electrolyte tank -

making it impossible to mount in some vehicles and very time consuming for others.

• Gas generated in the HHO cell decreases the effective stainless steel surface area - effectively reducing gas production.

• Added electrolyte does not reach the HHO cell for hours or days creating an inconsistent concentration - making it nearly impossible to add electrolyte without overshooting the desired concentration.

• HHO generators generate heat and are often enclosed in protective materials that prevent heat for dissipating –reducing efficiency and gas production and can cause thermal runaway and engine contamination.

• When the HHO cell runs while empty it burns up - causing costly repairs.

• Many Flashback protection devices burnup or are not even used – putting the HHO system at risk of being destroyed when a backfire occurs.

29

Common Industry Problems

Solution - AutoHydrogen• A Circulation pump that forces electrolyte into the HHO cell and pulls HHO gas from the cell as soon as it is

generated.

• HHO cell with cooling fins that extend outward and transfer heat directly.

• The PWM must monitor fluid level and shut down to prevent cell burnout.

• A proven flashback arrestor that automatically resets.

• THE DRIVER MUST ALWAYS BE AWARE OF WHAT THE HHO SYSTEM IS DOING AND HAVE COMPLETE CONTROL – In Cabin Controller with all the features.

Warranty ConcernsWill installing an aftermarket Hydrogen Injection void my warranty? NO

• Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act US Code-Title15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312

• Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson-Moss warranty Act (15 U.S.C.2302(C)).

• Under the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of the United States Code Annotated Title 15 Commerce and Trade Chapter 50 Consumer Product Warranties Section 2302(C), and the general principles of the Federal Trade Commission Act, a vehicle manufacturer or dealer may not make its vehicle warranty conditional on the use of any aftermarket system unless the manufacturer provides the system free of change or the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has given the warrantor a waiver for this section of the law or specifically published that only the vehicle manufacturers ™ product may be used.

• In laymen terms, this means NO vehicle manufacturer or dealer may make conditional its warranty because an aftermarket product has been installed on the vehicle. The Federal Trade Commission (202-326-3128) administers the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and it is viable in all fifty states. However, some states may have additional consumer protection laws. Please consult your local consumer protection offices for more details.

Warranty Concerns (non USA)

• The Moss Magnusson act covers the USA. However it was the basis for the European Law passed in 2003. In October 2003, European Union legislation affecting the motor trade came into force. Its full title is 'Block Exemption Regulations 1400/2002' (in short 'BER'). BER was bought in to close the loopholes that the warranty companies were using to get out of paying warranties to their customers. Even in extreme classes on aftermarket wheels voiding an engine warranty!!

• Our system is classed as a NON- permanent fuel enhancement system, like the new 'superfuels'. A permanent enhancement like a turbo would void a warranty. BER states that a warranty company has to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that the HHO system directly caused the engine failure. To do this they have to commission an independent automotive engineer to do a report and pay court costs. If they were just 'trying it on' then this would not be financially viable for them. The Office of Fair Trading is on our side here also.

• THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION DECLARED THAT SUCH CLAUSES IN A WARRANTY DOCUMENT WOULD REPRESENT 'AN UNJUSTIFIED RESTRICTION FOR THE CONSUMER'.

• We do not modify the engine, only the fuel type. To date, we have not heard of any engine failures on vehicles running on Hydrogen as an alternative fuel. For these reasons, it should not affect the customer’s insurance premium or vehicle warranty but they must inform their insurers/warranty companies or it may invalidate their insurance/warranty. For DVLA purposes this system is classed as a dual fuel like LPG. We issue notes to our customers for DVLA, the insurance and warranty companies when the system is installed explaining the system, procedures etc.
