About NPTI
National Power Training Institute (NPTI), an ISO 9001 & ISO
14001 organizations under the
Ministry of Power, Govt. of India is a National Apex body for
Training and Human resources
Development in Power Sector with its Corporate Office at
Faridabad. NPTI had been providing
dedicated services for more than four decades, operating on an
all India basis through its nine
Institutes in different zones of the country.Several long-term
and short-term training programs in
the areas of Thermal, Hydro, Transmission & Distribution and
Management etc. are being
conducted in the various Institutes of NPTI. Customized training
programs for various Power
Utilities are also organized round the year. NPTI also conducts
industry interfaced academic
programs with the objective to create a pool of committed and
competent professionals equipped
with appropriate technical skills to steer the Indian Power
Sector.
Since the inception of its first Institute in 1965, NPTI has so
far imparted training to more than
1,99,502 personnel from Central PSUs, SEBs, Power Utilities and
Private Sector organizations.
More than 10,000 operation engineers have been imparted
effective integrated unit operation
training on the Simulators available with NPTI.
Objective of the one week awareness program
In emerging technology paradigm, Geographical Information System
(GIS) has emerged as a
powerful tool with the potential to organize complex spatial
environment with tabular
relationships. We are going to conduct one week awareness
program on remote sensing & GIS inthe month of Jan., Feb. and
March 2014. This one week awareness program emphasizes the
importance and need of GIS & its applications providing the
best comprehensive knowledge to
professionals & technical officers from the government,
private sector organizations and
educational institutions.
Audience
The individuals who are part of the professional teams holding
positions of responsibility within
functional departments of medium to large public, private power
sector organizations,
educational institutions. The action packed one week course
caters to all professionals who wants
to apply GIS principles and technologies to solve their business
problems, starting at the verybasics and culminating independent
exercise that will help them maximize their knowledge of
GIS. The course also gives an overview of applications of
GIS.

Erdas, its key functions,and how to use it.
Digital DataSpatial and non-spatial; Visualizing and styling
data Data Modeling Spatial analysis Understand role and use of GIS
in various sector through case studies Hands on training on GIS and
Remote Sensing Software Arc Gis & Erdas
Pedagogy
A mix of pedagogical tools will be used cases, lectures,
discussions, presentations, audio-
visuals, and exercises. A typical day would include
comprehensive learning through classroom
and practical sessions

Venue and Accommodation
The program will be held at National Power Training Institute,
sector-33, Faridabad-121003,
Haryana. All accommodation facility will be taken care by NPTI
which will be extra charged to
the participants.
Fees
Rs.3500/- per participant. The fee covers Tuition fees, teaching
material and refreshments during
the training program. Lodging & boarding expenses will be
extra as per prevailing rates at NPTI.
Fees for the full program can be paid by Demand Draft, made in
favour of National Power
Training Institute, Faridabad, and Payable at Faridabad.
Nominations should reach the NPTI at least one week before the
start of program.
