DECEMBER 3, 2012

Harvest Funds Management, LLC (HFM), announced today that it will make a strategic seed investment in Ecofin Vista Long/Short Fund, a global equity hedge fund strategy focused on efficiency and disruption within power, energy, transport, technology, industrials and other related industries. HFM and Capricorn Investment Group are collaborating on the business venture.

The new fund is being launched within Ecofin, a $1.2B global firm headquartered in London with over 20 years experience. Ecofin specializes in public and private investments into the worldwide utility, infrastructure, alternative energy and energy sectors.

Vincent Barnouin, one of the Ecofin partners, commented today “We are very pleased to have the support of our strategic partners, Harvest and Capricorn, to launch this fund, especially in an environment where even some of the best strategies find it challenging to attract capital. Harvest and Capricorn have already made a significant contribution to the building of this fund and we are excited to work with them for many years to come.”

The agreement provides for capital investments by HFM and Capricorn into the Ecofin strategy and ongoing advisory support to assist Ecofin in growing the fund. In exchange, HFM and Capricorn have acquired economic interests in the Ecofin Vista Long/Short Fund.

“This partnership contains all the makings of a strong investment for our clients”, commented Eli Kent, a Harvest Fund Director. The deal combines an established specialist Fund Management firm in Ecofin with a proven investment team, track record and experience which enhances their investment credibility and reduces operational risk. Shared economic interests provide for strong incentives for the parties to work together to develop and grow the Ecofin Vista Long/Short Fund.

The Fund launches on December 3rd.

Harvest Fund, a private partnership managed by Harvest Funds Management, LLC (HFM), identifies emerging hedge fund talent, makes early investments in their strategies, and acquires ownership in their businesses. HFM partners with teams of proven, successful investors with differentiated expertise and investment edge and helps develop and grow their firms. In return for ongoing support and acceleration capital, Harvest Fund receives multiple sources of return, including investment performance, revenue shares, and monetization of its equity interests.
