Canada is the world’s second-largest country at 9.98 million square kilometres in total. Its highway system includes the Trans-Canada Highway, which will take you from coast to coast.
Driving in Canada is similar to driving in USA but with a few differences. The distances and speeds are posted in kilometers, with maximum speed limit in Canada is 50 kilometres per hour (km/h) in cities, 80 km/h on highways, and 100 km/h on rural highways. Be cautious of deer, elk and moose while driving at night in rural areas.
Do note that some signs, particularly in Québec, may be in French, and right turns on red lights are permitted in most cities except certain areas of Québec.
