With an adaptive stroller, kids are no longer isolated and it has an immediate impact on their lives. For other (not necessary with mobility challenges), a child might need an adaptive stroller to stay safe while out in the community.

Who is eligible for Variety’s Programs?• Variety’s adaptive equipment programs serve children and

youth who have a documented disability; reside in Variety’s54-county service area; are 4 to 21 years of age; meet theincome guidelines; as well as the other eligibility requirementsoutlined in each application.

As information, families who have a child with disabilities typically experience greater expenses due to medical costs, therapy appointments, adaptive equipment, medications, and variety of other needs or circumstances.

• Service Area: Variety serves 42 counties in Pennsylvania:Adams, Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Bedford, Blair, Butler,Cambria, Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Crawford, Cumberland, Dauphin, Elk, Erie, Fayette, Forest,Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Huntingdon, Indiana, Jefferson, Juniata, Lawrence, McKean, Mercer, Westmorland, and York, and 12 counties in West Virginia: Barbour, Brooke, Doddridge,Hancock, Harrison, Marion Marshall, Monongalia, Ohio, Preston, Taylor, and Wetzel.

How does someone apply to Variety Program?• An application can be downloaded through Variety’s website

Did You Know??? “Tidbits”Colleen Garrison, Branch President at The Hershey Company

• Did you know you can’t call off a personal day (PBX)the day before or the day after a Holiday? (As per contract)

• An employeewho moves into a new area/buildingafter the vacation periods have been established musttake his/her vacation during the periods that remainopen. (As per contract)

• If you submit a restriction / Limitation for hours ordays, you must fill out FMLA Papers

• There is another New Process FMLA Leave;each Hershey employee should have received a letterfrom the company explaining the new process.

• Wage Continuance: If an employee is eligible (hired before 1/1/2017) for Wage Continuance and has notmissed more than 32 hours (8hr shift) or 36 hours (12hr shift) in the prior year you worked, will haveearned Wage Continuance for the next year.

Employees hired after (1/1/2017) and have 2 years ofservice worked at West Hershey will be eligible for Wage Continuance if you only missed less than 98.85%on your attendance rate.

Example: You have Wage Continuance for the year2018, but you are off work for a surgery for 6 weeks, youhave now missed more than 32 or 36 hours dependingon what shift you are on. So you will no longer haveWage Continuance for the year 2019.

Important Fact to Know: If you start Wage Continuanceat the end of 2018; Example: If your first day off work isDecember 10, 2018 and you continue to be off into 2019your wage continuance will continue into 2019. But ifyou come back to work for even 1 day in 2019 and thenare back off for the same incident, your Wage Continuancewill end and you will be on Accident and Sick pay insteadof Wage Continuance. Reason being, you came backand the Company will then relook at your attendance for the prior year of 2018 and because you were off formore than 32 or 36 hours you lose it.
