Inside this issue: Well, the season is upon us and time to prepare for the 2020 Concert Series. I would like to personally thank the 2019 Concert Series Selection Committee (Linda Atkinson, Karen Jessop, Mary Koenig, Mary Kulyk, and Pat Roth) for doing a fabulous job of picking the entertainment for the upcoming 2020 season. We have a great lineup of entertainment that includes singers, musicians, comedy, ventriloquism and so much more.
The lineup of talent is as follows: Friday, January 10th—Lynn Trefzger & Darrell Joyce—Ventriloquist comedienne Lynn
Trefzger has given life to a trunk full of comical characters. Audiences will be treated to
Lynn’s vocal illusion talents and you may see audience members as part of the show. Darrell
Joyce’s hilarious and fast-paced style of comedy whips audiences into a frenzy as his uncanny
ability to find common ground with his audiences. Darrel’s quick wit and social commentary
once dubbed “Theater of the Mind” is one of the most entertaining shows in comedy today.
Saturday, January 25th—Vocal Trash—Best described as “entertainment with a
conscience”, Vocal Trash is an urban themed Broadway style production that reminds us the
importance of connecting with our planet and it’s inhabitance. This green minded 5 member
troupe rescues items from landfills to create a meaningful experience unlike any other.
Toolbox guitar, milk-urn bass and repurposed industrial percussion accompany world class
singing, high octane dancing and light hearted comedy.
Saturday, February 8th—Chicago Rewired-The Premier Chicago Tribute Band—The
band comprises a unique blend of talented and seasoned musicians joining forces with the
common goal of accurately replicating the timeless music of “Chicago” - the soundtrack to
great memories for so many people.
Concert Series News By Wendy Shea, Executive Assistant
Saturday, February 22nd—StringFever—Brothers Giles, Ralph and Neal Broadbent and their cousin, Graham—are four
world class musicians playing five and six-stringed electric violins, viola and cello in a truly original show. Charisma, humor,
energy and distinctive use of custom-made “Violectra” instruments create an experience that can only best be described as ….
Stringfever.
Friday, March 6th—Jayne Curry—Jayne is without doubt on of the UK’s most in demand female entertainers. Her warm inimitable stage presence and humorous observations on life, combined with show stopping vocals and hits from some of the world’s greatest divas, ensure her show delivers the “feel good” factor after every performance.
Tickets for the 2020 Concert Series Dinner Package went on sale on Tuesday, October 15th and we only have a few tickets remaining. The package includes reserved priority seating for all five shows including an all inclusive Dinner in the Nest Restaurant all for $240 per person.

Sports & Exercise Activities Around the Glen
Want to learn this fun game? Come join us on Tuesday, October 29 and Thursday, October 31 from 10-11 am to get the basics of the game. You will learn how to serve the ball, volley, dink (yes, it’s a funny word but an important part of the game), keep score and other rules of the game, and most importantly “stay out of the KITCHEN”. Come if you have never been to a clinic before, or if you have previously attended and need some more infor-mation. You will have the opportunity to play a game or two with some other newbies. We look forward to seeing you on the courts.

The Players Announce 2020 Production
The Players of the Glen are pleased to announce that the award-winning comedy, Lovers and Other Strangers by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna, will be their production this season. This comedy about relationships consists of four separate vignettes set in the 60’s. Performances will take place on March 20, 21, and 22.
Director Trish Perry will be conducting auditions on Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 from 1-4 in Card Room C. NEW THIS YEAR.... Trish will be hosting an informational Pre-Audition meeting on Thursday, November 21 from 6:30-8:00 pm in Activity room A. This is a chance for anyone who is thinking they might want to audition to see what it’s all about. Trish will answer any and all questions about the audition process, the commitment involved and give you the inside scoop on how much fun we have.
This production is perfect for anyone who has never been onstage before. It has four separate scenes requiring less stage time and fewer lines to memorize. Each scene is extremely funny, yet poignant. Trish will work one on one with any “newbies” to make the experience fun and the show a success.
Trish will be looking for actors to fill the following roles:
JERRY-a single guy that just wants some fun and romance
BRENDA-a single gal, hippie-ish, who is fun, vivacious and a bit “over the top”
HAL-a cheating husband trying to make everything work CATHY-his long-suffering mistress
WILMA-a strong woman looking for her “femininity”
JOHNNY- an ex-marine fighting a losing battle to be “the boss”
FRANK-a strong stubborn second-generation American father with little formal education
BEA- the female counterpart to her husband Frank.
RICHY- the son of Frank and Bea (requires a “younger actor”)
JOAN- Richy’s overly romantic wife (requires a “younger actress”)
So, as you can see there are a wide variety of roles available. Don’t be intimidated. Trish will help you. This is a great opportunity to try something new. Mark your calendars. Pre-Audition questions/answer session: November 21 6:30-8:00 pm in Activity room A
Auditions: December 7 & 8 from 1-4 pm in Card room C.
Hope to see you there!
