Nursery News This week in nursery we enjoyed Fancy Dress Day. The children enjoyed messy play, spooky stories, decorating cupcakes for snack, dooking for apples and lots of singing and dancing. It was lots of fun! The children will be enjoying an Autumn walk to Lochend Park later this month. We will be looking for different signs of Autumn on the way. This trip cannot happen without parent helpers. Please sign up in the cloakroom if you can join us. City of Edinburgh Tours Ghost Writing Competition I am delighted to inform you that once again a Hermitage Park pupil has been announced as the overall winner for the above writing competition. Congratulations to Katy Thorne P7b for her really scary ghost story. This is a tremendous achievement as I understand that there were hundreds of entries all of a very high standard. Katy will attend an award ceremony on Sunday 5 th November where she will be asked to read her story aloud to the audience and she will be presented a prize of £75 and a copy of a book containing all the winning entries. Well done Katy…we hope you enjoy the ceremony! Autumn Disco/Superhero Party

Autumn Disco/Superhero Party   The children all had a great time at the Autumn Discos and Superhero Parties.  £257.52 was raised, which will go towards school funds.     We changed the format of the disco this year by holding a Superhero Party for the P1 & P2 children, as well as having 2 Fancy Dress Discos for the P3 & P4 classes and P5, P6 & P7 classes.  The School Association are always looking at ways to improve events and would welcome any feedback, by email to [email protected]

P1 Induction WeekJust to remind you that Primary 1 induction week will take place next week Please ensure when handing in the application form that the relevant documentation is included. We need a birth certificate, a council tax bill and a utility bill. Without this documentation your child cannot be registered.

Parking is once again becoming a real problem with cars being parked on the zig-zag lines and over neighbours drives. We are also having problems with people double-parking their cars on the street.

Can I once again urge you to park considerately and if possible park your car away from the school and walk the short distance?

Thank you for your co-operation.
