Both poverty and food thresholds in Region XII went up by 13.7 percent in the first sem of 2012!

In the first half of 2012, among provinces in Region XII, South Cotabato posted the highest poverty threshold at P9,797; the highest increase in poverty threshold was noted in Cotabato Province at 22.5% from 2009.

In the first sem of 2012, among the provinces in Region XII, South Cotabato had the highest food threshold; Cotabato Province posted the highest increase in food threshold at 22.3 percent.

In the first half of 2012, only Sultan Kudarat posted decline in poverty incidence; a remarkable increase in poverty incidence was noted in Cotabato Province and Cotabato City



In the first half of 2012, subsistence incidence in Sultan Kudarat dropped by 1.0 percentage point from the same period in 2009; highest increase was posted by Cotabato Province followed by Cotabato City

Among the 17 regions in the country, only Caraga and Region II posted significant decreases in poverty incidence between the 1st semesters of 2009 and 2012, and 2006 and 2009, respectively.
