JULY 2014 CASINO NIGHT & SILENT AUCTION by Julia Bryant If you have never been to our Casino Night then this has to be your year to give it a try! Ask anyone who has ever participated and they will tell you it was a fun filled night with exciting games, excellent silent auction items, terrific food and drinks, and an unbelievably good time close to home. Our Casino for a Cause and Silent Auction is taking place at Big Sky Event Hall in Royse City on August 8. Your admission includes everything you will need to be totally entertained for the evening. Casino Central is providing our gaming tables and they are profes- sionals who will help you learn how to play the game if you are a rookie, and they will give you a challenge if you are a seasoned play- er. Your winnings will then go into a drawing to win some fabulous prizes at the end of the evening! Our Silent auction never ceases to please as we have many bidders hovering over their particular item trying to be sure no one else beats them out. Thus, the “Hover Police” we had stationed around the auc- tion last year. No matter your skill level you are guaranteed to have a great time enjoying the catering of Ana Shew and the wine from Kiepersol plus other delightful beverages. There are still sponsorship opportunities available and we would love to put your name on dis- play at the event as a supporter. Funds raised go toward our commu- nity improvement efforts (we are helping to restore our historic jail this year) as well as donations and in-kinds to local non-profits. If you would like to help us with the event, you can attend our next meeting and join us for lunch at The Well Coffee Lounge downtown Royse City on Tuesday, July 1. JULY 2014

CASINO NIGHT & SILENT AUCTIONby Julia Bryant

If you have never been to our Casino Night then this has to be your

year to give it a try! Ask anyone who has ever participated and they

will tell you it was a fun filled night with exciting games, excellent

silent auction items, terrific food and drinks, and an unbelievably

good time close to home.

Our Casino for a Cause and Silent Auction is taking place at Big Sky

Event Hall in Royse City on August 8. Your admission includes

everything you will need to be totally entertained for the evening.

Casino Central is providing our gaming tables and they are profes-

sionals who will help you learn how to play the game if you are a

rookie, and they will give you a challenge if you are a seasoned play-

er. Your winnings will then go into a drawing to win some fabulous

prizes at the end of the evening!

Our Silent auction never ceases to please as we have many bidders

hovering over their particular item trying to be sure no one else beats

them out. Thus, the “Hover Police” we had stationed around the auc-

tion last year. No matter your skill level you are guaranteed to have a

great time enjoying the catering of Ana Shew and the wine from

Kiepersol plus other delightful beverages. There are still sponsorship

opportunities available and we would love to put your name on dis-

play at the event as a supporter. Funds raised go toward our commu-

nity improvement efforts (we are helping to restore our historic jail this

year) as well as donations and in-kinds to local non-profits.

If you would like to help us with the event, you can attend our next

meeting and join us for lunch at The Well Coffee Lounge downtown

Royse City on Tuesday, July 1. To place your reservation, go to

www.roysecitychamber.com. You may also see attached invitation in

The Royse City Chamber Board of Directors

gathered together at Big Sky Event Hall on

June 9 for a mini retreat. We discussed the

year ahead and ways we can be of greater

benefit to our community. The guys from FIT

Lifestyle and Nitrition on Main Street sur-

prised us with a spontaneous workout ses-

sion followed by some meal replacement smoothies. See a list of

our Board Members in this newsletter and feel free to contact any

of them with questions or suggestions!

Our Chamber Luncheon was bittersweet as

we were honored to have as our speaker

State Senator Bob Deuell, MD. His term in

office will end in January, so you still have

time to speak to him about any issues that

are concerning you regarding the State of

Texas. We were also happy to present

Chamber Plaques to 3 new members - Rockwall Dodge Chrysler

Jeep, FIT Lifestyle & Nutrition, and Joe's Meat Market in down-

town Royse City. Welcome to you all!

FunFest is going to be here before we know it

on October 18. Vendor spaces are available

and can be reserved online at www.roysecity-

chamber.com or by contacting the Chamber

Office. Please note that if you are a food ven-

dor or a franchised business such as Scentsy,

you will need to contact the Chamber to be sure that spot isn’t

already filled. Please see the application attached

to this newsletter for more vendor information.

Being our 25th Anniversary it is going to be an amazing event and

one you do not want to miss. Just for an sample of what you will

see here: Professional Western Gunfighting Troupe; Truck Pull;

Contests; Children’s Pageant; Vendors; Cow Patty Bingo; Carnival

Food; Amusements with Hamster Balls, Foam machine,

Inflatables, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Mini Train, Military Vehicle

Rides, Archery, Slingshots and more; PLUS – our first ever

I have been a licensed agent since 1999

and have 5 years experience in down-

town development/redevelopment,

community development and have

been an active member of the local

Chamber of Commerce since 2000.

Wife of 15 years to my soul mate and

business partner David Hollifield and

proud mom to 2 girls, Royse City has

been our home since 1999.

I currently work in the residential, small commercial and acreage

markets around the Dallas Metroplex., In addition to my primary

markes: Rockwall, Hunt and Kaufman Counties, I work the Dallas,

North of Dallas and East of Dallas markets.

I enjoy marketing, professional networking and business develop-

ment. Currently serving and having served on numerous boards

and committees I appreciate team work, dynamic leadership and

the power of working as a team to achieve the unimaginable.

The MOB SQUAD descended on Helping Hands June 6th to show their support. Each

month a local business will be chosen for a group of Chamber Partners to go into

unannounced and make a purchase, snap a photo, and put it on social media. The

idea was to spend around $10 each, but we found way too many items to stay at that

limit. We will be hitting up another store in July so if you want to be a part of the Mob

Squad just let me know and I will add you to the shout out list!

Congratulations to The Fulton School’s 2014 Senior James Hamrick Morgan on

receiving an appointment to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis. With a

6.8% acceptance rate, USNA is one of the most challenging and rigorous colleges to

enter, and has been ranked as the #1 public college in the United States by US News.

Hamrick plans to serve as a Naval Officer and will certainly have a measurable

impact on the world.

As a Fulton student, Hamrick played baseball, basketball, golf, and ran track. He was

an Eagle Scout and as his project he contrasted a new sandbox for the Preschool and

Lower school playgrounds. He was a member of the National Honor Society and on

the Robotics team. He also competed in various Texas Association of Private and

Parochial Schools (TAPPS). He is an active parishioner at Holy Trinity by the Lake.

Hamrick is always quick to volunteer and is a true servant leader.

The Fulton School is proud to call Hamrick and many other students like him a Fulton Alumni.

Find out the difference Fulton can make in your child’s education. Fulton believes in, “doing what’s best for

each child,” and providing a well-rounded course of study that fosters a delight for learning and seeks to help

students recognize personal worth. By engaging students in a strong interactive curriculum balanced with

involvement in extra-curricular activities, The Fulton School molds well-rounded, confident students who are

prepared to meet the challenges of today’s world.
