you to complete the assignments, it will allow you to provide feedback on ideas shared in class by your peers and

aid in your understanding of the topics being discussed.

Papers Specific guidance will be provided in the Blackboard site for each graded instrument.

Presentations & Exercises Specific guidance will be provided in Blackboard for each graded instrument.

Quizzes/Exams Every chapter in the text is linked to a chapter quiz (C. Quizzes).

1. Syllabus Quiz: No explanation needed.

2. Chapter Quizzes: Complete these on-line in Blackboard. These focus on the text as a means to get you to

read it.

3. Midterm and Final Exams: The nature of these exams will be determined at the midway point and at the

end of the course.

Tips for succeeding in this class

Read the chapters.

Complete all assignments and quizzes.

Enter Blackboard daily – multiple, shorter study periods are more productive then single, longer periods.

Ask questions. Chances are someone else has the same question you do.

Ask for help. I am here to help you succeed in the course.

Do not play video games. They do not help you to relax (stop rationalizing). There will be plenty of time

for video games after you graduate.

Eat well and get good sleep. Avoid electronics of any kind 30 minutes prior to sleep.

Do not keep your phone in your bedroom when you sleep. Buy an alarm clock.

Late Work Policy All work must be submitted on or before the established due date and time, unless otherwise directed by the

instructor. Material received after the deadline, even if that’s one minute after, will earn zero points.

Grading Response Time Unless otherwise stated, I seek to provide grades and feedback no more than one week after the due date.

Cheating/Plagiarism Cheating means having others do your work for you, using the work of others as your own, or completing a test or

quiz using inappropriate means, i.e. copying from others (see http://www.lcsc.edu/studentaffairs/student-code-of-

conduct/academic-dishonesty/ ). If you are caught cheating, you will receive a zero on the assignment, quiz, or test.

Further, cases of cheating will be referred to Student Affairs.
