    shifting away from mass consumption towards mass communication and mobility. This digitization makes itpossible to sustain economic growth within the context of increasingly limited physical resources.Economics is becoming less about ownership and more about access. Therefore, expect major changes inthe consumption patterns, including smaller homes. Younger generations are less interested inaccumulating debt for the purchase of cars and housing. Renting and sharing are becoming more commonarrangements for large physical assets. So cities will grow in popularity, as they allow for a greaterinteraction between people and opportunities. And, as robotics continue to displace human works inmanufacturing and agriculture, the career ladder will be replaced by a patchwork quilt of work experiencesso that mobile workers and their families will need a bridge loan to each opportunity.
