A fortunate few New Yorkers, enjoyed the four day’s and night’s of festivities that celebrated the Wedding of Ender Mermerci’s exquisitely beautiful middle daughter, Yosan, to the dashing French Banker, Oliver Reza. Istanbul,on the shores of the Bosporas, was resplendent as the traditional ‘Henna Night’ began. The Bride’s hands are decorated with henna as a symbol of fertility and to bless the marriage, many folk songs are performed to make the bride cry, as it is believed that her tears will bring fertility to the marriage. The Wedding Party was held in their family home, a magnificent Villa,trans- formed into a white feathered fantasy. The farewell dinner was hosted by Cigdem Simavi at Zeyrekhan and Haves Ekinci invited everyone to her home for a wonderful cocktail reception. Many of the New Yorkers were than treated to a seven days of cruising along the Turkish Coast. The Bride and Groom, Oliver Reza & Yosan Mermerci.
