Philip ChildsWealth Manager

A graduate from Kaplan University in Singapore, Philip is a talented financial profressional having worked for St. James’s Place for almost five years. Having developed his own successful Practice, in July 2016 Philip accepted the opportunity to join Henman Wealth in order to continually enhance the service offering to his clients; Philip can now call upon the infrastructure and resource of the Henman Wealth Practice to offer his clients exceptional service.

Samuel SchenkPractice Development Manager

Sam is an accountancy graduate from Rhodes University, South Africa. Upon graduation, Sam moved to Shanghai in order to commence his career in the financial services profession. St. James’s Place spotted Sam’s potential and brought him into the business to continue his professional development where he has spent over two years working with leading Partners. At Henman Wealth, Sam plays an integral role in building the Practice.

Yayi XuExecutive Assistant

Having completed a Masters of Finance in France, Yayi returned to Shanghai and joined St. James’s Place as personal assistant to Giles Henman. Yayi places high priority and importance by ensuring clients receive an exemplary service at all times. Responsive to clients needs, Yayi puts all of her knowledge and experience to help clients achieve their financial goals and are kept well informed at all times.

consultants provide to the Investment Committee, which private individuals or advisers would not ordinarily be able to access.

• If this level of monitoring were not available how would you know:

h When a particular manager within an investment company had ceased managing a fund in order to start a new fund, or had perhaps left the company altogether?

h If the incumbent would still be the right person for the job? h If the key analysts in the organisation who supplied the manager with the good ideas have

left the company?

• Whenever the Investment Committee asks Stamford Associates, Redington and other respected independent consultants to recommend a manager there is conscious risk control through consideration of how the manager’s style and process will combine with our other managers. By using individuals with different investment approaches you benefit from diversification of management style.

The value of an investment with St. James’s Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds selected and may fall as well as rise. You may get back less than the amount invested.

n early career spent as a Graduate Accountant for one of the world’s leading accountancy practices where Giles gained a broad knowledge of business across many sectors and in particularly the challenges involved in international businesses. In 1988, Giles was recruited to join the financial services industry by a division of one of the UK’s oldest private banks, Hambros, London, rising to Regional Director Level where he gained valuable insight into the financial markets and its various instruments through a rigorous training and development model.

Giles specialises and excels in all areas of wealth management advising and implementing long-term strategies to maximise wealth and to reduce tax liabilities with extensive experience dealing with UK and non-UK domiciled high net worth and ultra -high net worth clients.

Giles is an Associate of The Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment with a Certificate of International Wealth Management and has lived in the Pudong area of Shanghai with his wife Jill and 2 teenage sons, Tommy and Harvey for 5 years.
