Your holiday starts here…This welcome guide will answer any questions you may have about the facilitiesand entertainment, what to do around the park and what to see and enjoyaround Newquay and Cornwall, to provide you with lasting memories of yourholiday in this special part of England.

So much to see and do…Our friendly staff can give you lots of tips and advice on the best places to visit,beaches, shopping and entertainment, and if you have any queries they will dotheir best to assist and advise – pop into Hendra’s reception for maps, lea�etsand guides on hundreds of places to visit and info sheets on the best beaches,walks etc.

In the centre pages of this guide are vouchers where we have arrangeddiscounted entrance fees for many top attractions for our guests.

Everything’s here for youPut your feet up, relax, and take a few minutes to find out moreabout the facilities around the park.

Great places for fun, entertainment and relaxation...

…so much for everyone you’ll never have to leave the park!

The Oasis Fun pools complex is probably where most of our guests spend their time, especially with the children! With three sensational waterslides in the indoor pools it’s the fun place to be when the weather is less favourable. The outdoor pools are a must to cool down on hot days and the pool terrace is a great place to relax.

Sports and games �eld - take a look at our large games �eld for organised games, a kick about with a ball or a game of pitch and putt. Located through the gate past Laurel Field, this is where you’ll �nd various extra activities like the Segway Tours, and other events as they become available throughout the season.

Play areas and amusements - the Soft Play, which is located on the way to the Club, is an indoor soft play facility for the under 6s and there are lots of other indoor amusements including arcade games and Bowlingo to keep everyone occupied for hours.

Scooter and Skate park - this amazing facility is for children and young teenagers. It will keep them happily skateboarding and scootering in a safe and exciting environment all day!

Family activities - we know that if the kids are happy you will be too - so check out the big bluenotice board outside the Club for details of various events taking place on the park and don’t miss meeting Henry or Henrietta at breakfast or in the evening or on the free train rides around the park.

The Club cabaret bar - the highlight of the holiday for many of our guests who are looking for live on stage evening entertainment, bingo and lots more. Once the sun’s gone down get ready for an evening of brilliant entertainment in the Club. Masses to enjoy for all ages from the early evening children’s club with Henry and Henrietta Hippo to prize Bingo and family games, to late evening entertainment with the Hendra Entz Crew and live on stage music and variety acts! See pages 18 to 21.

Outdoor Fitness - NEW THIS YEAR - For guests who like to stay in shape on their holiday we now have a brilliant and fun way to get some exercise right on site… a gym workout outdoors, just off the main roundabout.

Play Park and Traversing Wall - NEW THIS YEAR - Children can burn off that holiday energy with our fantastic outdoor children’s playground and amazing traversing wall for little adventures!

Archery, Laser Clay Shooting and Scuba Diving - NEW THIS YEAR - Have a go at these exciting sports, great fun activities for the whole family!*

Situated behind our supermarket, Mario’s is a great place to relax. Why not come and enjoy a freshly baked pizza and a drink or just chill out with a coffee? There is even regular live entertainment to enjoy at certain times throughout the season.

All of our pizzas are baked to order and are available to eat in or to take away.

Fantastic Fun for everyone!You’ll find so much to fill every day with excitement and funthat you’ll probably never leave the park!

Events change on a daily basis for Maximum Fun! So check out the big blue noticeboard by the Club for the activities and event times and locations.

At Hendra we know how important it is to keep all ages entertained, so there really is something for everyone.

Tiny tots will enjoy the play area in the Soft Play* room, and the new Play Park next to the Laundrette.

Older children will spend hours in our Skate and Scooter Park and have lots of adventures on our new Traversing Wall!

Kids can get a glimpse into what it is like to survive in the wilderness with Hendra’s Survival Lessons! Learn how to make a �re and gut a �sh!

Teenagers and the whole family will have fun trying new things such as going on a Segway Tour*, a unique form of transport likened to gliding on a magic carpet, and testing their skills with Archery*, Laser Clay Shooting* or Scuba Diving*.

For children 6 years and under, meet in the Soft Play roomfor soft play and activities. Any child under 4 years must have anadult with them at all times. Open on Mondays and Fridays from9.00am to 10.30am. All other mornings 9.00am to 11.30am.Open every evening 4.00pm until 6.00pm. At busy times 30minute session will be operated.

Then meet up in the Club from 6.30pm for loads of fun and interactive gamesfrom face painting to dancing to your favourite chart music, meeting Henryand Henrietta and your favourite Crew member!

Then there will be family game shows, fancy dress competitions and lots more!

The biggest fun pools complex in the South West is right here on site! Just a short walk from your caravan or pitch and open from 10am – 6pm every day.

Everyone can have safe and splashy fun whatever the weather - you’ll never want to get out of the indoor pools!

Three water �umes, the fast and furious high speed aqua whizz �ume, the wet and wild 265ft super �ume and the gentle fun slide, plus river rapids, a geyser, waterfall and fountains, you can’t get any wetter!

For those who prefer not to get wet there are lots of loungers and deckchairs to relax on whilst the family enjoy themselves!

Indoors or out, rain or shine… the outdoor pool is a super place to cool off when it’s hot, to sunbathe or just relax with family and friends! The outdoor pool area is where you’ll �nd lots of extra activities in school holiday periods too, from Water-Walkers to Archery, Laser Clay Shooting and Bush Survival lessons!

For safety reasons use of the �umes is restricted to competent swimmers and those over 1 metre in height. Use of the River Rapid Ride is restricted to competent swimmers and those over 1.2 metres in height.

Swimmers under 9 years must be supervised by an adult. Non-swimmers under 9 years must be accompanied in the water at a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children. All children under 5 years, regardless of swimming ability, must be accompanied by an adult in the water at a ratio of 1 adult to 2 children.

The pools have a capacity limit for the health and safety of pool users and during peak season and busy times we may restrict entry to Hendra Holiday Park guests only and/or operate swimming sessions of 1 hour 30 minutes.

Activities For The Whole Family

Segway SessionsExperience this unique form of transport which is likened to gliding on a magic carpet. As seen on Dr WHO and the Gadget Show. Go off road around Hendra.

Call 0844 381 4044 to book a full 70 minutesession at the discounted rate of £22.50 or to book a 20 minute taster on one of our activity sessions for £5.00. These sessions meet at the Segway area in our sports field. Weight range: 7-18.5 stone.

Archery LessonsTest your accuracy and you might find an exciting new sporting talent! A great fun activity for the family.

Book your poolside sessions at the Oasis reception or call 0844 381 4044 to book

a 1 hour session for £10.00. Age range: 8 years and above.

Scuba DivingFrom 25th May you can experience scuba diving in our heated outdoor pool with our PADI qualified instructors.

30 minute sessions can be booked at the Oasis reception for £8.00. You will receive

a certificate and can book a dive off the Cornish coast if you’re left wanting more. Age range: 8 years and above.

Laser Clay ShootingEnjoy the excitement of shooting 50 clays by our outdoor pool. It’s fun for the whole family; see who will get the highest score, mum or dad?

Sessions can be booked at the Oasis reception at a cost of £6.00. Age range: 8 years and above.

Bush Survival & Solar ScienceLearn about den building, beach safety, and how to light a fire. Gut a fish which you can cook on the fire with some marshmallows. You will also try a solar experiment and we will teach you about Hendra’s SunPower

Meadow solar farm. Meet at the outdoor pool for this free activity.

Come and taste our cyders, wines, spirits, preserves & juices. Enjoy a tour of our farm and experience our cyder from tree to bottle. There is something for everyone, whatever your age!

Hendra EnvironmentalHere at Hendra we want to make sure we operate an environmentally sustainable business.

This year we have installed a new biomass boiler to heat the Oasis Pools using locally sourced wood chips. This will save tonnes of CO2!

Being Green, Greener and Greenest!The Hendra Team always want to be as green as possible, wehave already achieved a huge amount and you can do yourbit as well. It’s great fun for the kids to get involved too!

Hendra produces on average the same amount of rubbish as a small town, every week, so it is vitally important that everyone does their bit to recycle as much as possible. This will keep the costs down so we can continue to offer fantastic value holidays!

Henry Hippo has recycling stations around the Park so paper, card, glass bottles and cans can be sorted fast! Henry and Henrietta are always grateful for the help, and love to recycle!

Our shower blocks and toilets use reduced water systems and we keep lighting to a minimum so you can enjoy the stars at night!

You can be green by using your car less when you are away, by taking the bus. It couldn’t be easier! Hendra is on the bus route with a bus stop and shelter right outside the site, with regular buses into town and to the beaches, and across the road there are buses to The Eden Project.

If you have an electric car, then fuel up for free at Hendra with our electric car points!

What do we do if there is a security or maintenance issue?Report it to Reception or call our Customer Service Hotline on 07967 852152.If you need assistance after Reception has closed you can call the night Warden on 07967 852152.

What happens to the barriers/security at night?You can come in and out of the site at any time throughout the night, though we ask that you do not drive around the site late and be respectful of your neighbours.

What do I do if reception is closed and I want to check out?Put your key in the key box outside of Reception. If you are touring or camping you do not have to come into Reception to check out.

Are there any cash machines on the park?There are cash machines in the Tavern Bar foyer and in the supermarket. The nearest cash machine outside of the park is at Morrison’s Supermarket, about half a mile away.

Where can I charge my phone? You can charge your phone for a small fee in Reception.

Is there Wi-Fi on site? There is free Wi-Fi in the Tavern Bar and on the Pool Terrace. Just ask at the Bar for the code.

Can we walk into town? How long does it take?You can walk into town; allow 40 minutes to an hour. Be aware though that there are a few hills and busy roads! Please go to Reception for directions.

What are the bus times?Bus times vary throughout the season. You can �nd up to date times at Reception or by the bus stop.

Where is the nearest cinema?The nearest cinema is The Lighthouse Cinema which is in the centre of town.

Where is the nearest large supermarket?Morrison’s is just down the road. Turn left out of the site and go right at the roundabout. Morrison’s is on your left. There is also a Nisa supermarket on site.
