In this my first message as Polemarch of the Hendersonville (TN) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you who supported me in my aspirations to assume a greater leadership role as well as thank the past chapter Polemarchs and officers, past and present, for their time and service. Additionally I would like to extend greetings to Brothers all and offer an invitation of fellowship to those Brothers in search of a home chapter. The Hendersonville Alumni Chapter has always been a place where innovation,

progression, and opportunities to lead are encouraged. We believe that in order to remain relevant we must be dedicated to each other and the communities that we serve. We identify ourselves as ‘Progressive Nupes’ and are careful to avoid stagnation and complacency. Even our chapter slogan ‘On the Move’ is a constant reminder that today’s obstacle will require a ‘tomorrow solution’. As Polemarch I want to generate even more opportunities for training, community service and networking resulting in a greater impact in our communities. This my Brothers is the framework for a win-win situation. Larry T. Whaley Polemarch Hendersonville (TN) Alumni Chapter Reporter’s Notes: This issue of the Progressive Post documents the

STUDENT OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

In the spirit of Achievement we as a chapter would like to introduce to you Nicholas Trice a rising senior at McGavock High School who recently received the Hendersonville Alumni’s Student of the Year Scholarship. He also went on to represent the Hendersonville chapter, at the Spring provincial meeting, against other SOY winners from the South Central region of Kappa Alpha Psi. We are proud to say that Nicholas stood victorious at the province level and subsequently moved on to the national competition held in Indianapolis, IN at the Centennial Conclave. His future goals include a career in corporate finance and accounting. The Hendersonville Alumni chapter would like to congratulate and thank Nicholas for representing our chapter, the province, and his community in a manner that makes us all proud.
