Evaluation
� In addition to remedial courses, the university also offers short
term classes on preparation of competitive exams like UPSC,
GPSC, Bank PO, etc. and also on soft skills and other beyond
regular class
� India Today Institutions Rankings June 2013 has ranked HNG
University at 48 in India among all institutes of higher
education on basis of Reputation, Quality of academic input,
Student care, Infrastructure, Job prospectus, Faculty, Research
publication, Innovation and governance.
Research, Consultancy
and Extension
� Recently, Dr. A G Modi, a faculty from Department of
Commerce and Management, got prestigious Raman
Fellowship (Post Doctoral) under Indo-US bilateral
cooperation.
Infrastructure and
Learning Resources
� University has acquired new campus of 100 acres located at
Vadali Dist: Sabarkantha
� University has developed Central Instrument Facility (CIF)
under UGC scheme where all sophisticated instruments are
kept. The CIF facility is used by department of Life Science,
Chemistry, Bio-Technology and Pharmacy.
� University is going to establish its new WAN with 1 GBPS
Bandwidth using fiber optic connectivity.
Student Support and
Progression
� Statutory bodies like the Anti-Ragging Committee and the
Committee against Sexual Harassment (CASH) actively
encourage student participation in their awareness
programmes. SC/ST Cell, Equal Opportunity Cell works for
weaker section students.
� SPIPA Nodal centre is preparing students for competitive
exams like UPSC, & Bank PO.

2.15 Plan of Action by IQAC/Outcome
The plan of action prepared out by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality
Enhancement and the outcome achieved by the end of the year

� Institutional performance was analysed against the NAAC peer team report 2008 and previous year
AQAR report and activity were initiated in respective domain for quality improvement
� Required action were taken as per external audit report
� To collect feedback and data on key point indictor for quality enhancement
� Management review meeting and SWOT analysis
� Establishment of on line Academic management system
� In year work on following three recommendation of peer team was initiated
1. The system of Documentation and maintenance of University records needs to be improved.
2. Improvement in examination system.
3. Review and improvement in teaching methods, wherever required.

2.12How does IQAC Contribute/Monitor/Evaluate the Teaching & Learning processes:
• IQAC of HNGU has organized programme on RUSA jointly with KCG and faculty development
progeamme in ICT sponsored by NMEICT.
• IQAC has carried out various activities for Quality Maintenance and enhancement on campus.
• Data collection was done and AQAR report for the last academic year was prepared.
• AQAR Output of last academic year was analyzed and improvement plan was prepared and implemented.
• Preparation for NAAC reaccreditation initiated and SSR preparation started.

HEMCHANDRACHARYA NORTH GUJARAT UNIVERSITY 2013-14 BEST PRACTICES –I
1. Title of the practice: Abhimanyu Award
2. The context that required the initiation of the practice
On the occasion of Janma Jayanti of Swami Vivekanand, Shrimati Vidhyaben Dipchand Gardi
Chair has organized Abhimanyu Award-2013.
3. Objectives of the practice
The reason behind organizing this award is state wide celebration of Janma Jayanti of Swami
Vivekanada, and motivating students to cultivate a culture of competitiveness in their life, and there is high
level of competition among students in studies and in competitive exams. Almost all government departments
organize entrance exams in their recruitment process. Hence it is necessary to develop culture of competition
among students.
4. The Practice
This competition was organized at college level, five districts of university area covered (Patan,
Mehsana, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha and Aravlli). Total 5000 students have participated in this competition.
Instructions were given to colleges that each college will come with two topper students from there colleges in
this 100 marks MCQ type quiz. Every student will be awarded certificate of participation. At university level
further quiz will be conducted and topper participant of this quiz will be awarded a Tablet.
5. Obstacles faced if any and strategies adopted to overcome them
Smoothly conducted.
6. Impact of the practice
Students got motivated to appear in different competitive exams, they came to know about the
content of the competitive exams. Hence a good level of awareness spread among the students about different
exams and their process.

1. Title of the practice: Committee against Sexual Harassment (CASH) had organized a seminar on
Women Empowerment
2. The context that required the initiation of the practice
Honourable vice chancellor has motivated to provide a healthy and congenial atmosphere to the staff
and students of the University.
3. Objectives of the practice
• To sensitize the campus community on gender issues.
• To prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against women, by promoting gender amity
among students and employees.
4. The Practice The Committee consists of members of the faculty, administration, Non teaching staff, a doctor and
an NGO representative. A number of awareness programs were conducted in all university
departments and finally one seminar conducted, In this seminar, there were 410 participants
(university and nearby college teachers and postgraduate students) who actively took part in this
program.
Female students from almost all departments attended this one day program and 200 students
participated in different activities of this one day program.
Non- teaching female staff members also participated in many events of the program.
5. Obstacles faced if any and strategies adopted to overcome them Smoothly conducted.
6. Impact of the practice Good level of confidence has generated among girls of university and female staff, objectives of
the program has achieved.
