University reform

The first Board of the University of Helsinki prescribed by the new Universities Act begins its term of office

The new Universities Act enters into force: the University will become a legally and financially independent organisation under public law.

Department reform: 67 departments were combined into 24

The former Administration Office is reorganised as the Central Administration comprising the Rector’s Office and University Services
