"HELPING IMPROVE EDUCATION AND THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE POPULATION OF THE ISLAND OF AMANTANI" PROJECT UPDATE To this date we have successfully completed our short-term goals as well as phases’ one, two and three of our educational project in Amantani island. ALL WAYS TRAVEL TITICACA PERU has created a position in the company for an Educational Projects Manager and the assigned person is Mr. Victor Pauca Lazo. Victor constantly organizes various meetings with different members of the communities such as parents, teachers, political authorities and local leaders in the many communities of Amantani island. As a result of this tenacious work we have built self-sustaining libraries in 10 different small communities in Amantani. Between December 2007 and January 2008 the first library was built in the community of “Santa Rosa” with the help of volunteer tourists and the economic donation of Mrs. Barbara Gowan through The Non-Profit organization Arizona Reading Association from USA. All funds were used to buy furniture and some of the books for the library. Later, this same institution has helped us to install libraries in the communities of “Qolquecachi”, “Villa Orinojon”, “El Pueblo” and “Inkatiana”. In 2010, we have built another library in the Community of “Sancayuni Alto” with the donation of Mrs. Nina Fogelman, owner of the American company Ancient Summit Enterprises Inc. from United States. Also, many independent travelers have been willing to cooperate by buying on site more books, furniture, construction material, or painting to continue the implementation of libraries. More libraries have been built in the community of “Ocosuyo” with a wooden floor and we are currently working in the libraries in “Lampayuni” and “Comunidad Campesina”. By the end of year 2013, we have opened the last library in the community of “Ocopampa”. In 2014 we are recognized for our Literacy Project in Lake Titicaca as third place honoree in the Annual Responsible Tourism Showcase run
