Private label products are very important to consumers. They help them save

money when they go shopping … money that can be used for other family

necessities. But quality must be as good or better than A-brands. Otherwise,

consumers will not return and purchase private label again.

It is a simple explanation of the importance of private labeland, as a result, the popularity of private label around theworld has never been higher. Market share in France, Germany, UK and Spain, for example, exceeds 40% of total supermarket sales. Other markets like Scandinavia and Eastern and Central Europe have now reached over 30% and the growth of private label continues.

As a business for manufacturers and retailers, private label offers tremendous opportunities. Retail sales have reachedmore than 250 billion euros and product assortment stretchesfrom budget to premium, from organic to ethnic.

Where do retailers and manufacturers go to see the latest private label products and get new ideas for marketing and merchandising? For more than 30 years, the answer has been PLMA’s annual “World of Private Label”International Trade Show. SHOW ORGANISERSPLMA’s annual “World of Private Label” International Trade Show is organised bythe Private Label ManufacturersAssociation. It is the only organisation ofits kind, representing more than 4,000member companies around the globe.PLMA presented its first show in theUnited States in 1980 and its first show inEurope in 1986. Today, it provides servicesto member manufacturers in more than 70 countries. In addition to the annualtrade shows in Europe and U.S., PLMAalso co-organises the Shanghai PrivateLabel Fair in China.

DECORATIONS AND FURNISHINGSA full range of exhibit furniture, fixtures,electrical power and other services can berented from the official contractors usingthe order forms that will be included inPLMA’s online Exhibitor Portal. Exhibitorsmay also use their own furnishings, provided they conform to trade showrules and safety and fire regulations.

OFFICIAL CATALOGUEAll PLMA exhibitors receive a free listing in the Official Trade Show Catalogue anddigital Exhibitor Profiles. The listing includes company name, address, telephone and fax number, e-mail, website, product lines and two exhibitor personnel contacts. Product descriptionsare published in English, French and German. Advertising space is available for exhibitors who wish to highlight andpromote their stand location or products.

ONLINE SHOW PREVIEWPLMA’s online Show Preview provides category-by-category listings of exhibitorsand is made available to all registered retail and wholesale visitors 30 days prior to the show to help them identify exhibitors that they want to visit. In theShow Preview, exhibitors can announcetheir new products, upload pictures and highlight their standard company listingsby ordering online advertising space.PLMA regularly updates the online ShowPreview to include the latest additions and adjustments.

PRELIMINARY BUYERS LISTExhibitors receive a preliminary list of buyers 30 days prior to the show. The listincludes all pre-registered retailers andwholesalers so that companies can arrange appointments in advance.

SPECIAL SHOW INVITATIONSAll exhibitors receive a set ofcomplimentary show invitations to contactretailers, wholesalers and other businesspartners whom they wish to invite to theshow as their guests at no additional cost.

NEW PRODUCT EXPOPLMA also features exhibitors’ innovativeproducts and packaging in its annual New Product Expo. Products selected are displayed in showcases in the Idea Supermarket during trade show hours.

EXHIBIT STANDSSingle and multi-unit stands are available to accommodate the display needs of allcompanies. Each unit measures 3m x 3m.Stand prices include standard fascia,grey carpet and stand cleaning on bothshow days. Exhibitors are separated bywhite plastic laminate walls. All aisles arecarpeted.
