Helpful hints from Anaheim Welcome to Anaheim, the home of Disney- land and the California Angels, and one of the most exciting recreational and vacation destinations in the country. For those flying, Anaheim can be reached by four major airports-Los Angeles, Long Beach, Ontario, and Orange County-all served by airport bus service. During popular travel hours, buses operate approximately every 30 minutes between Los Angeles In- ternational Airport (LAX) and Disneyland/ Anaheim and frequently between Orange County Airport and the Disneyland/Anaheim area. The fare between LAX and Disneyland/Anaheim is $2.95; between Orange County and Disneyland/Anaheim, it is $1.25. Although it rarely rains this time of year in California, we have the March winds. You will be most comfortable in pantsuits or light jackets during the day; however, you may need a warmer jacket or coat during the evening. Temperatures are usually between 70 F to 80 F (21 C to 27 C) during the day dropping to the mid 50s during the night. You will want to include a long dress for evening activities. Bring comfortable walking shoes because the Convention Center is on a 40-acre site and has two exhibition halls of 10,000 square feet each and 35 meeting rooms. Most of the hotels are within walking distance of the Convention Center where all the meetings will be held. Buses will also be provided for transportation. Anaheim has many fine res- taurants near the Convention Center. A list of restaurants, beauty salons, churches, banks, and shopping centers will be available at the hospitality booth in the registration area. On arrival at the Convention Center, you will be greeted by hospitable AORN mem- bers dressed navy blue suits and white blouses. We are there to make your week at Congress a memorable one and to assist you in any way possible. While you are in the area, plan to extend your stay for a fun-filled vacation.
