Wanted! A brick mason or general contractor with knowledge on how to rebuild our BBQ Pit that is located outside under the canopy/awning on the waterfront side. The bricks are there, they just need to be put in place with some mortar so we can rent out this area thereby supporting our VFW. We have a budget for this and are willing to pay. We need your bid to make sure we can afford your services. Please don't ask us what our budget is. Just give us a price and we will see if we can work together. There are three ways to place your bid - first by contacting Leon Jones at 407-617-1338; 2) send Leon a text message or 3) leave your information at the bar with his name on it. We thank you for your thoughts and consideration of this request.

Sunday, April 17th at 3:00 PM. AUXILIARY
Tuesday, April 19th at 7:00 PM.
See Page 7 for more info.
Wednesday night Bingo is on hold due to equipment failure. We will let you know when we’re up and running again.
On March 24th the Home Depot Foundation was on site repairing the soffits in preparation of painting the building. We thank them for this as well as Gary Godard who was also there to help.
A big Thank you again to Dave Randhan for his help in completing the pressure washing of the building. Dave is handy to have around the Post because he is always happy to help.
As April 7th approaches, the Home Depot Foundation will be on the premises to start painting the building. We are in need of your help. If you have a paint sprayer and can help on this day, that would be awesome!
We are so in need of our membership to show up to help improve our Post. If you can plan for this, we are only asking for two days — painting on the 7th and landscaping help on the 8th. Please come and help our curb appeal thereby attracting potential new members! You are the BEST!!!

Thank you to Sam Ramsey who has been
working diligently to repair our fence along
the north side of the building. This is an area
that is not visible to us on a daily basis but it
is important to help keep the building
secured and safe for each of us as we enjoy
the VFW.

Thought for the day! It cost zero dollars to be a decent
human being!
Our prayers and thoughts go out to the family and friends of two of our members that have recently been called to their heavenly home, Robert Murphy and Albert Cushion. May they rest in peace.
Continue to pray for our service men and women as they still fight far from home so that we may have freedom here. Godspeed them home safely.
Pray for the leaders of our country. Give the guidance they need to make the best decisions that will be better for all.
Pray for our VFW elections coming up in April. Making the right choice for our leadership is vital to our organization.
A word of Praise goes out to Gary Godard
for all the hard work he has put into getting our building back in order. Look around. Everywhere you will see the many things he has done. So instead of the negative comments, say thanks for a job well done.
There are many things that still need to get done, so lend a hand and help to get our building back in order. We have a beautiful location that we all can be very proud of, but it does need upkeep.
If you know of anyone in the hospital or rehab center, please let me know so that I may visit or make a call to them. Also let me know of anyone that has gone to their heavenly home. You can reach me by calling the Post at 407-296-2502 or my home number, 407-629-5808.
Proudly serving as your Chaplain Post 2093.

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter!
There is a sign-up sheet in the Canteen for volunteers in April to help our Home Depot professionals. Lunch will be provided by the Post. Thank you to Dave Randhan for pressure washing the entire Post building in preparation for the future Home Depot crew.
Thank you to Gary Godard and our newsies, Doris and Paula. Gary was honored by National for signing up so many new members since he took over as Quartermaster/Adjutant. Paula and Doris work very hard to keep this newsletter going and it’s never looked better.
We bid Ed Tashoff farewell last month. He is moving to North Carolina to stay with family and continue to get better. Best of Luck Ed. Jim Pope is getting better every day and is in very good spirits.
Elections are right around the corner and I hope to be your commander for another year. I assure you my staff and I continue to stand ready to keep this Post moving in the right direction.
If you have any questions or concerns my door is always open. If you cannot reach me please reach out to one of my very capable staff and they will take care of the issue or connect with me and we will find an answer to your question.
Thank you,
Russell Carpenter - Go Army

The Inaugural RTC/NTC Orlando Reunion is slated for October 12 - 16, 2016. We know we have many veterans that participate at our Post that graduated from NTC so we wanted to bring it to your attention. For this event, they are recruiting shipmates from RTC Companies from 1968 - 1994. You won't want to miss being a part of this amazing reunion. For information and updates, please visit www.rtcorlandoreunion.com or find it on Facebook at RTC Orlando Reunion. Registration starts July 20, 2016. Just in case you did not know, when they closed the base and Baldwin Park was built, they left a 30 acre area dedicated to those who went to RTC/NTC known as Blue Jacket Park. The park is near Lake Baldwin today.

From the Auxiliary President’s Desk Greetings to all !
Summer is fast approaching us as are our elections. If you have a desire to serve in an office, please have someone to nominate you. Our elections will be Tuesday, April 19 at 7:00 p.m., our regular meeting. At the moment we have a need for Sr. Vice, Jr. Vice, Chaplain, 3 Year Trustee, Historian, Patriotic Instructor, as well as chairmanships. So please step up. To serve is indeed an honor. I would love to see some of our new members, men and women, serve in an office and work up the chairs. You learn so much more about what each position does and with this knowledge you become very valuable to the Auxiliary.
It's been a great year for the Auxiliary. We have gotten a lot accomplished and have many new members, both men and women. It’s very nice to see the interest the men have shown in joining and becoming one Auxiliary. Once again I welcome each of you and have thoroughly enjoyed being your President at the time of this big change. It was truly an honor. I am very proud to be a member of Post 2093 and will help in any way to make it better.
I want to thank Doris Birkinbine and Paula Barnett for a great job on the newsletter each month. These two members work and still have time to put out an awesome newsletter monthly . Giving the correct information to them is of vital importance, so please double check dates and times for your events you put in. Once it has gone to the printer it cannot be changed. They do an incredible job. Thanks Ladies. You are appreciated!!
We have 4th of July coming up, help will be needed to make this event a success. There will be a jar put out on the bar to help buy the fireworks. Drop your change in there to help fund this event. The fireworks cost us about $1,000 each year, so that change can add up quickly. Each year we have the best fireworks in the area. This year it will be held on Sunday July 3. There will be a cookout, games for kids and adults and music, but we need help to get this going and make it another successful year.
An events meeting will be held monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m., prior to the House meeting. If you have input that will benefit us, please show up and voice your thoughts. New and improved ideas are appreciated greatly.
I would also like to recognize Gary Godard for all the work he has done around the Post. For someone who has retired, he works twice as hard down here. Many things would still be on the back burner if he had not stepped in and done it. So, Thank You Gary, from the Auxiliary. We appreciate all you do.
Remember , if you can't say something Nice, just don't say anything. Negative thoughts are best left unsaid.
Respectfully Submitted,
Jani Ramsey
