Michael Nai Siu HongBSc Accounting and Finance (2016) with First Class Honours, University of London@HELP CAT

My journey through the UoL programme was

not an easy one but I would say it was definitely worth all the sweat and tears!

The syllabus of the course is so wide that I have to do extensive research and studies besides just attending lectures in order to gain a thorough understanding of certain topics.

This unknowingly has sharpened my analytical skills and hence equipped me for my current studies - Master of Data Science, which is a highly analytical discipline.”

The University of London programme

was rigorous and difficult. During my degree, my lecturers always said that our degree will help with our working life. I never quite believed them but on hindsight, they were right. In the programme, I had to learn how to organise my studies. This has helped me tremendously in my working life. When you start working, sometimes you have to learn on your own and thus manage yourself. Since I learnt how to manage my own studies, applying this to work was not hard. It also taught me to handle stress so much better.”

The UoL degree has taught me to always

ask questions. Through questioning, I was driven by the urge to find out more by doing a lot of in-depth research in order to understand a topic better, instead of just memorising it. This has helped build my research and reasoning skills at work; it also further formed my individuality because I do not settle for an answer without justification.”
