Community support needed for a chance to win up to $25,000 ASPCA grant

to help save more horses

(Knoxville, TN: March 23, 2016) — Horse Haven of Tennessee will be celebrating the

ASPCA® (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals®) national

Help a Horse Day on April 23rd and competing for a chance to win up to $25,000 in

grant prizes to assist with their efforts to protect horses. In honor of the day, Horse

smaller horse lovers, there will be pony painting, pony kissing, cupcake trot and more.

This nationwide event and competition is to raise awareness about the lifesaving work

About Horse Haven of Tennessee

Horse Haven of Tennessee is a 501c3 that was founded in 1999 as a solution as to

what to do with equine confiscated by law enforcement because of abuse or neglect.

As the oldest and largest equine welfare group in Tennessee, our mission calls us to

rescue, rehab, and rehome neglected and abused equine across the state of

Tennessee through programs of shelter, adoption, and education. Horse Haven holds

these animals as evidence for the courts. Once the courts have released the equine,

Horse Haven re-homes them through adoption. As of the end of February 2016, 927

horses have found their way into our care. When called upon, we assist law

enforcement in investigations and preparation for court cases. Horse Haven provides

these services at no cost to any county within the state of Tennessee.
