Hells Canyon Standards ~ Standard Poodle Purchase Contract ~ Limited Registration

ATTENTION! Please, read carefully. If you have any questions, please, ask. We present this contract to

you as a way to ensure that we find life-long homes for our dogs by pairing them with appropriate

families.

This agreement is between Rick and Tina Woods of Hells Canyon Standards hereafter referred to as

Breeder, and __________________________________________________ hereafter referred to as

Buyer. This agreement refers to _______________________________________, whelped

on_____________ , Sire: Hells Canyon Sir Jaekin AKC#: PR14809801, Dam: Hells Canyon Lady Shammy

AKC#: PR14940710, hereafter referred to as Dog. The Breeder guarantees the Dog as follows:

1a) The Dog is being purchased by Buyer from Breeder for total price of $________

1b) Buyer paid a $250 non-refundable deposit on (date)___/___/___. Remaining balance is $_______

1c) The deposit/contract entitles the Buyer to Pick #__________and prefers a Male or Female (circle one).

2) The litter is registerable with AKC (American Kennel Club) as indicated above and a registration form

will be furnished to the Buyer upon completion of the sale and payment of balance due. Buyer agrees to

us the words “Hells Canyon” at the beginning of the Dog’s registered name.

3) To the best of the Breeder’s knowledge, this Dog is free of communicable diseases and birth defects

and at time of sale the Dog was in excellent health. The Dog has received appropriate

vaccinations/deworming and care to date. Buyer will be supplied with the Dog’s medical records.

4) Even in parents that have genetic testing in place, the results of that pairing are still a roll of the dice.

There are no guarantees that health issues won’t arise in any particular pup from that pairing. However,

the Breeder guarantees that if the Dog is diagnosed with a debilitating genetic disease (prior to the age

of 2), the Breeder will give the Buyer another puppy from the next available litter upon return to

Breeder of the original Dog and written veterinary confirmation of Dog’s diagnosis from two separate

and unrelated veterinarians and approval by Breeder’s vet.

5) Buyer is encouraged to take the Dog to a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours after taking possession

for a general health exam. If during this health exam the Dog is found to have a serious health problem,

the Buyer must return the Dog with the Veterinarian’s written confirmation as to the health problem.

Upon return of the dog along with the written Vet confirmation, the Buyer will receive another Dog of

equal value if one is available, otherwise, the purchase price of the Dog will be refunded to the Buyer.

Return of the Dog must be done within the 48 hours of Buyer’s Vet’s determination, otherwise, the

Buyer forfeits any replacement or refund of the Dog.

6) Breeder will not provide a refund or exchange for any Dog injured or becoming sick (due to non-

genetic disease) after leaving the Breeder’s premises. Buyers are required to limit the exposure of their

Dog to other dogs and outside high traffic dog areas until the puppy is at least 16 weeks old and/or has

been given its final puppy vaccination.

7) This Dog is being sold with the agreement that it is being placed with a Buyer who promises the Dog

will become a member of the family and will primarily live indoors as a member of their family.

8) Buyer agrees to maintain preventative health care of the Dog including, but not limited to: annual

vaccinations, treatment as needed for internal and external parasites, and heart worm preventative

medication.

9) Breeder is selling this Dog, specifically, for home pet/companion purposes; this Dog has selectively

been bred with great detail given to good health, physical soundness, great temperament and high

intelligence.

10) Buyer agrees that he/she has researched the Standard Poodle breed and has gotten answers to any

questions that he/she has about the breed. In doing said research, Buyer agrees that the Dog is a good

fit for his/her life-situation and that the Buyer can provide a responsible home.

11) Buyer understands this Dog is being sold with a Limited AKC registration only. Limited registration

precludes Buyer from showing the Dog in conformation breed shows, from breeding the Dog and from

registering any litters produced or sired by the Dog. Limited registration does entitle Buyer to register

the Dog with AKC and attend sanctioned obedience, agility, and freestyle events. Buyer agrees that the

Dog will be spayed or neutered by 12 months of age. Buyer agrees to provide Seller with proof of

spay/neuter within 12 months after purchase date as shown below. If the Dog is not spayed or neutered

by 12 months of age and/or is used for breeding (whether intentional or accidental), the Breeder

reserves the right to repossess the Dog and the Buyer forfeits any and all purchase monies.

12) Buyer understands that this is a non-transferable contract.
