Science - Float or sink investigation

Have a go at creating your own boats using recycled materials and then test whether they float or sink. You may wish to test them in

the sink or in the bath. Materials you could use - sponges, egg boxes, plastic cartons,

foil, corks, etc.

When you test your designs, observe and record your findings. Then write a conclusion on what you have found out.

Does the shape of the boat seem to determine whether it floats or sinks?

Are the boats that float made of similar materials? Are they smaller sizes?

Does the weight of the materials matter?

Science - Float or sink investigation

Another investigation! This requires playdough/modelling clay if you have any at home. With the modelling clay, you will need to make a boat shape and test

whether it floats.Think carefully about the shape. Do you notice anything about the shapes that

float? Here is a website that provides some more information
