10th Bilateral Meeting 2018 between Heidelberg University and National Yang-Ming

University (Taiwan) in Heidelberg

The meeting marks the 10th anniversary of the bilateral relations between Heidelberg

University and National Yang-Ming University which were established in 2008. Since this time

a vigorous exchange between both universities emerged.

The Meeting emphasis is on Vertical Medicine – from the Clinic to Molecular Structures.

Clinicians and researchers try to challenge jointly diseases. By highlighting the vertical

approach the focus is on connecting the atomistic picture of atoms and molecules to the

phenotypic aspects of disease. Diseases covered are e.g. viral infections and cancer.

The technical approaches used are from both, the experimental as well as the computational

side. This combination is envisioned as vital for future medical research and therapy.
