JACK INGLISAIMA CEOJack Inglis became the chief Executive Officer of AIMA in February 2014. He has been involved with hedge funds for 25 years and has held leadership positions in prime brokerage at both Morgan Stanley, where he served for 16 years, and Barclays, where he was prior to joining AIMA. From 2007 to 2010 he was CEO at the convertible bond specialist, Ferox Capital Management. He began his career in 1983 and has extensive experience across origination, distribution and trading across the capital markets. He holds a Master of Arts in Economics from Cambridge University.

JOHN HINDLEY Partner Heidrick & StrugglesBased in London, John Hindley is a Partner and a member of Heidrick & Struggles’ Financial Services Practice. Hindley focuses on hedge funds, placing senior executives across investment, distribution and operational functions.

Prior to Heidrick & Struggles he worked for Credit Suisse Prime Services as head of the EMEA Prime Consulting team, the business consulting group, advising clients across a range of issues with a focus on talent and compensation.

Although new to Heidrick, John brings previous boutique search firm experience. During his time there, he led the hedge fund practice and placed senior executives in a variety of both investment and operational roles. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers working in London and New York advising hedge funds on taxation. Following eight years at PwC, he worked for Morgan Stanley in Prime Brokerage.

John holds a master’s degree in English Language and Literature from the University of St. Andrews. He also earned his ACA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales.

VINCENT VANDENBROUCKE Director Prime Consulting Credit Suisse Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Vincent was a Partner and the Global Head of Operational Due Diligence at Hermes BPK Limited where his team was responsible for analysing and assessing the operational risks of all targeted hedge funds’ investments.At Hermes BPK, Vincent was a Member of the Senior Management Committee and of the Investment Committee. Prior to that, Vincent headed Operational Due Diligence teams at Pioneer Alternative Investments (London), AXA Investment Managers (London) and Olympia Capital Management (Paris), was a Controller at Soros Private Funds Management (New York) and an Auditor at Deloitte & Touche (Paris, London and New York). Vincent holds a Master’s degree in finance from SKEMA Business School.

KEVIN M. LOPRIMOManaging DirectorHead of Hedge Fund Services & Equity Finance Global Prime Partners Ltd.Kevin is responsible for the build-out and overseeing of the Prime Brokerage platform offered by Global Prime Partners Ltd. Kevin has over 29 years of experience providing services in various capacities to Hedge Funds. He started his career at Goldman Sachs in New York; then, after a brief stint with them in Tokyo, he started their Prime Brokerage business in New York in 1992. He then moved to London in 1996 to build the business out, in Europe as well. After spending over 19 years at Goldman, he moved to Merrill Lynch in London in their PB business for 18 months, then to UBS as a consultant in their PB business. After working at a Family office, he joined Global Prime Partners to create the first European-based boutique Prime Broker. Kevin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Pace University in New York.

QUENTIN THOM Hedge Fund Consulting Deutsche BankQuentin Thom is working with the Global Prime Finance Hedge Fund Consulting team in Europe. He has 16 years of experience in financial services combining operational risk experience in tier 1 investment and retail banking, big 4 consulting and, most recently, hedge fund operational due diligence. Previously Quentin was Director within the Consulting team at Kinetic Partners LLP, the professional services firm focusing on alternative investment management. He joined Kinetic from Amber Partners (UK) Ltd, the hedge fund operational certification firm where his role, as Managing Director, included business & product development, marketing and client servicing plus the delivery of operational certification and operational risk consulting services globally. Quentin holds a BA (Hons) degree in Economics.

DARSHINI SHAH Editor of Bloomberg Brief: Hedge Funds Europe Bloomberg L.P.Darshini Shah is the editor of Bloomberg Brief: Hedge Funds Europe. She started her career as an equity sales person at UBS AG before taking on the role of a research analyst at equity long-short hedge fund Pelham Capital. She has an master of arts in financial journalism from City University and a bachelor of science in mathematics, operational research, statistics and economics from the University of Warwick.

BILL PREW Founder & CEO INDOS Financial LimitedBill Prew is the Founder and CEO of INDOS Financial, an independent depositary business which provides depositary services to alternative investment funds under the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (AIFMD). Bill is a qualified accountant with over 19 years financial services experience. He started his career in 1993 in the investment management division of PwC. After 7 years with PwC in London and Sydney he helped establish an email technology company (subsequently sold to Cisco Systems) before returning to financial services and joining Barclays Global Investors in 2002. At BGI, Bill served as European Chief Financial Officer and then Head of Supplier Management, with responsibility for the management and oversight of BGI’s European outsourced supplier relationships providing custody, fund accounting, transfer agency and client reporting services to over 2,000 accounts and $620bn of traditional long-only and alternative funds. In December 2007, Bill joined Moore Capital Management to support the spin-out of the management of the $3.5bn Moore Credit Fund to James Caird Asset Management, a hedge fund manager with offices in London and New York. During his time at JCAM, he was responsible for a range of operational areas including finance, legal, compliance, product control, investment operations, fund accounting and technology. On leaving JCAM in December 2012 to focus full time on AIFMD and the development of the INDOS business he held the position of Chief Operating Officer. Bill is a recognised independent expert on AIFMD and has presented at many industry events and been published widely in the industry press.

KEN SOMERVILLE Founder and Head of Business Development QuintillionKen Somerville is a founder and Head of Business Development at Dublin-based Quintillion. Ken was previously at PFPC International and Morgan Grenfell.

He has been involved in the hedge fund sector since 1995, specialising in administration, middle office and business development. Ken graduated from Trinity College Dublin in

TOM KIRKPATRICK European COO SS&C GlobeOpTom Kirkpatrick is European COO for SS&C GlobeOp. He is responsible for business strategy and operations in Europe and is a member of the Board of the firm’s regulated entities. He previously served Credit Suisse First Boston as the European Regional Head, Product Control, where his responsibilities included Quality Assurance and the development of Operational Risk metrics. Prior to CSFB, he held management positions at Bankers Trust, London, including European Senior Control Officer, European Head of Derivative Products Operations and Regional Product Controller for Derivative Products. Kirkpatrick holds a Master of Arts in Modern History from St. Andrews University in Fife, Scotland.

CLAIRE CUMMINGS Founder Cummings LawClaire Cummings qualified as a solicitor in 1996 and since then has specialised in the legal issues surrounding both funds and fund management. As a solicitor in private practice, Claire has acted for a number of clients in the alternative investment arena and built up experience of a wide range of legal and regulatory matters. Claire has acted as in-house counsel and director of legal and compliance for a fund manager, where she was involved in the running and growth of a fund management business and worked closely with other directors, the trading and operations departments and brokerage counterparties. In July 2002 Claire established Cummings Law and draws on her experience as both a lawyer and a director of a fund management company to work with her clients as they establish and build their businesses.

NANCY KING Partner Portman Compliance Consulting LLPNancy King established Portman Compliance Consulting LLP in January 2013 and has worked in compliance for 12 years. She has represented the buy side and sell side equally and has a business-positive approach to compliance.

Nancy has over five years of experience working for compliance consultants, and in that time has seen over 200 FCA-regulated firms, including firms, including hedge funds, asset managers, fund of funds, broker-dealers, private equity and property fund managers, working closely with the FCA and senior management of firms to maintain compliance with rules and regulations.

In 2005, Nancy joined Bear Stearns International Limited as a Specialist Regulatory Consultant, where she assisted individuals starting hedge funds representing many different strategies from long/short equity to the more complex strategies. This work ranged from project managing the launch of new managers, including the selection of service providers to providing help on specific regulatory issues. Nancy worked at Bear Stearns until 2008, at which time she transitioned across to join J.P. Morgan Prime Brokerage.

Nancy has worked at a variety of asset managers and banks including HSBC, Russell Investments and National Bank of Dubai, where she held the Compliance Officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer positions.

DANNY SIMS Manager – Corporate Authorisations and Principal Consultant ACA Compliance GroupDanny joined ACA Compliance (Europe) in August 2010 as a Senior Consultant. Now a Principal Consultant, Danny manages the firm’s Corporate Authorisations team. Working from London, he specialises in the new start-up space, where he manages Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) applications for various clients as well as variation of permission (“VoP”) projects relating to the Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive (“AIFMD”). His clients include a diverse range of financial services firms such as hedge funds, long-only managers, private equity firms, retail and institutional brokerage firms, and niche investment banking firms. Danny is also an active member of ACA Europe’s consulting team for ongoing client relationships, where his responsibilities include drafting and implementing customized policies and procedures and other required documentation for firms that have received their FCA licences, as well as assisting clients with their ongoing compliance monitoring obligations.

Prior to joining ACA, Danny served as a Consultant at a UK and Jersey (C.I.) focused compliance consultancy.

Danny read law at the University of Essex, graduating with an Honours degree.

CLAYTON HEIJMAN Founder and Managing Director Privium Fund ManagementClayton Heijman is the founder and a director of Privium Fund Management based in London and Amsterdam. As a Dutch national, he obtained a business college degree from the Dutch H.E.A.O. in Utrecht in 1983 and a Master in Business Administration from Webster University of St. Louis in 1986, with an emphasis in marketing and management.

After working for Kas-Bank, then a subsidiary of Euronext, and merchant bank MeesPierson he joined Goldman Sachs as an Executive Director in the Equity Finance & Prime Brokerage division from 1994. In 1998 he joined Fortis as a Managing Director to set up the Prime Fund Solutions activities focusing on alternative asset managers. After leaving in 2006 he was a Managing Director at Credit Agricole’s Calyon in London and Paris.

In 2008 he started Darwin Platform and Privium Fund Management, a regulated investment firm that provides start up services to new investment management initiatives around the globe and provides COO support.

He is a member of the EMEA-board at the Alternative Investment Management Association and an external director with different funds. In 2014 he founded the charity “STAP” to identify and support exceptional high-school talent.

JOHN MASON Global Head of Regulatory Reporting Bloomberg L.P.John Mason is currently Global Head of Regulatory Reporting at Bloomberg. Until recently he was Head of Technology Solutions for EMEA encompassing all of Bloomberg’s real-time data and technology products. Prior to joining Bloomberg Mason was Chief Operating Officer at Netik (now Core One) responsible for global sales, service and support. Mason has been involved in senior management and leadership roles for the last 15 years.

NIGEL BROOKS Managing Partner Capital Support LtdA qualified lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, Nigel is a co-owner of Capital Support. Since establishing the business 12 years ago he has remained active in building the company’s success; today Capital Support provides IT services to a significant portfolio of established finance industry names.

Nigel has extensive experience of working within the financial services sector, and he has a proven track record of creating IT solutions that achieve business benefits within a regulated environment.

SIMON EYREDirector of Service Eze Castle IntegrationSimon Eyre is director of service in the London office of Eze Castle Integration, a global provider of private cloud and IT services to the alternative investment management industry. With over 15 years’ experience in the IT industry, Simon is responsible for the delivery of all services within the UK for Eze Castle Integration. His scope is both technical and non-technical–including delivery of cloud, network and storage products and client relations as well as the hiring, management and training for all IT staff. Simon is into his 11th year with Eze Castle Integration and was instrumental in their first multi-tenant environment in New York and the opening and success of the company’s London operations. He previously worked for a Federal Business, providing them with the necessary experience to transition from a UNIX to Wintel platform. Simon has lived in both the US and UK and attended Rutgers and NJIT universities for his BSC in Electrical Engineering.

TOM WOOLLARD DirectorEdge Technology GroupTom Woollard has over 12 years’ experience at senior management level within the Finance finance sector and has been providing technology services and solutions to the hedge fund and alternative investment industry at the senior and CTO level for the past eight years. An expert in Greenfield deployments built around four basic principles of unity, automation, scale and continuity, Mr Woollard joined Edge Technology Group at a time within the sector when enterprise level IT infrastructure is still a requirement, but alongside tight budgetary restraints, tight deadlines and regulatory controls, and limited data centre capacity.

CONSTANTIN M. COTZIAS Head of Government and Regulatory Affairs Bloomberg L.P.Constantin M. Cotzias is the head of government and regulatory affairs for EMEA based in London. He was previously the global head of Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg’s legal news and research platform. He joined Bloomberg in 2001 as chief counsel and compliance officer.

Prior to working at Bloomberg, Cotzias was a senior mergers and acquisitions lawyer at Denton Wilde Sapte (presently known as Denton), one of the United Kingdom’s largest law firms, where he advised on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and IPOs across industries including media, telecoms, technology, and energy. From 1998-2000, he was chief counsel of Denton Wilde Sapte’s Moscow office.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in modern history and politics and is a law graduate from the London School of Economics (University of London). Cotzias earned honours in the English Law Society Final Examinations and is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales.

JOSH DAMBACHER Partner Schulte Roth & Zabel International LLPJosh Dambacher is a partner in the London office, where his practice focuses on corporate, securities and regulatory matters. He primarily represents institutional and entrepreneurial investment managers, financial services firms and private investment funds in all aspects of their business. Josh’s experience includes structuring investment management firms, hedge funds, private equity funds, hybrid funds, UCITS funds and funds of funds; and structuring and negotiating seed and strategic investments. He also regularly advises investment management firms and their principals on US and UK regulatory compliance, acquisitions and reorganizations of investment management firms, and restructuring proprietary trading desks into independent investment management firms.

Josh previously led the US Financial Reforms Working Group for the Alternative Investment Management Association. He is listed as a leading investment management attorney by Chambers UK and The International Who’s Who of Private Funds Lawyers, and he is listed in the Financial News 40 Under 40 Rising Stars of Hedge Funds 2012 and Financial News 40 Under 40 Rising Stars of Legal Services 2013. Josh is recognised by Chambers UK interviewees as “pragmatic and commercial in his outlook” and “always reachable no matter what.” He is also a frequent speaker and author on issues facing the investment management industry including, most recently, on the proposed EU Directive on Alternative Investment Fund Managers, alternative investment UCITS funds and the US Dodd-Frank Act. Josh holds a JD from the University of Michigan Law School and an MBA in finance from Purdue University, where he was Phi Beta Kappa.

RICHARD PERRY Partner Simmons & Simmons LLPRichard Perry is a partner at Simmons & Simmons LLP. Richard is involved in transactional, advisory and regulatory work for asset managers and other businesses operating in the financial services sector.

He is an investment funds specialist advising on funds of all types and the promotion of investment products, especially hedge funds. Richard is a partner in the financial services group in London, having been made a partner in 1999.

TIM PEARCE Partner Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & FeldTim Pearce specialises in the launch of hedge funds, funds of hedge funds and related transactions, including advising in relation to segregated account agreements and managed account platforms. He regularly counsels clients on third party investments in funds and managed accounts, and negotiates investment management mandates. He has considerable experience advising on fund restructurings and regulatory matters regarding alternative investment funds. He also advises managers frequently on the structuring of their asset management businesses and transactions related to them. Mr. Pearce has advised asset managers in relation to their activities in a broad range of jurisdictions, including the USA, Europe and Asia.

PETER NORTHCOTTExecutive Director KB AssociatesPeter Northcott is an Executive Director in KB Associates’ London office where he is responsible for offering start-up consulting, due diligence advisory and change management consulting services to the London alternative investment market.

Mr. Northcott has twenty-five years’ experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining KB Associates, Peter was a COO at the hedge fund managers Mako Global Investors, Apollo Global Management and Mulvaney Capital Management. He has also worked in operational due diligence at Caliburn Capital Partners, a fund of hedge funds. Prior to that, Peter worked in the investment banking industry in a number of senior operational and change management roles at ANZ (in New Zealand), Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and JP Morgan.

Peter holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons) in Physics from the University of Birmingham, is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment and is a Chartered Secretary.

SAUL BENJAMINPartner, Head of Operational Due Diligence Tages CapitalSaul is the Head of Operational Due Diligence and a Partner at Tages Capital. He joined Tages in July 2011. Saul and his team are responsible for operational due diligence across Tages’ investments in hedge funds and UCITS globally. Previously, he was the Head of Operational Due Diligence at Pamplona Capital Management and prior to this, Saul worked at Tarchon Capital Management where he served as Operational Due Diligence Analyst and Accountant and subsequently was appointed Head of Operational Due Diligence. Saul started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers primarily focusing on clients within the Insurance and Investment Management division.

Saul holds an Honours Degree in Economics and Social Studies specialising in Accounting and Finance from the University of Manchester. He is a Chartered Accountant and a CAIA Charter Holder.

NICOLAS MUELLERPartner, Business Development Northlight Group LLPPrior to becoming a Partner of Northlight Group LLP, Nicolas was a Partner, co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Merian Capital Partners LLP, a European Equity Long Short Fund. Previously, Nicolas held various senior positions within Man Group plc. where he was Head of Managers’ Transactions at Man Global Strategies (MGS), responsible for the structuring and implementation of MGS’s USD 10 billion new affiliation initiatives, and a member of MGS’s Management Committee, in addition to serving as Head of International Offices & Joint Ventures at RMF Investment Group. Prior to joining Man, Nicolas was a Senior Associate at Wiederkehr Forster in Zürich, with Mayer, Brown and Platt in New York, with Crédit Lyonnais, EY and De Pfyffer & Ass. in Geneva. Nicolas is also co-Founder and a Board Member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Switzerland. Nicolas holds a J.D. from the University of Geneva, a LL.M. from New York University and has been admitted to the New York, Zürich and Geneva bars. He is fluent in French, English and German.

MICHAËL MALQUARTI, PHDCo-Head of Alternative Investments SYZ Asset ManagementMichaël joined the SYZ & CO Group in 2005, initially developing quantitative and qualitative tools to support the alternative investment process and subsequently, as Head of Risk, designing and institutionalizing its risk management process. In 2010, he joined the Alternative Investments Team as Senior Analyst and Senior Portfolio Manager with a focus on quantitative issues, complex strategies and portfolio construction. He has been co-heading the team since 2012. Prior to working in the financial sector, Michaël carried out research in the field of theoretical cosmology. He is the author of several publications in pr ofessional journals. He holds a Masters in Mathematical Physics from the University of Geneva and a PhD in Astronomy from the University of Sussex (UK).
