Join The Bayit at the People’s Climate March, Sept. 21st
On Sunday afternoon, Sept. 21st, hundreds of people will take part in
the People‟s Climate March in Manhattan, including Jews from many
synagogues, environmental groups and many other people of faith –
calling on world leaders to commit to a strong climate change treaty.
The Bayit has endorsed the march and will be leading a group to
participate. The march will start at 11:30 a.m. at 59th Street,
Columbus Circle and end at 11th Ave. between 34th and 38th Street.

homebound so that we can arrange for
them to hear the blowing of the shofar.
On Simchat Torah we can also bring a Torah to their homes
so they can receive an aliyah.

MIRIAM PERETZ - Mother of two fallen IDF Golani officers, Ariel (Lebanon) and Eliraz (Gaza), will be visiting our community to speak about
the IDF, the Golani brigade (which has lost many soldiers in Gaza during „Protective Edge‟), bereavement, and emunah. An exceptionally inspiring
speaker, Miriam travels all over Israel offering solace to families who‟ve lost their loved ones defending the country, and has come to be known
affectionately as the „mother of all the chayalim‟. This moving event is sponsored by the town of Eli and will be hosted by Debbie and Howard
Jonas and Rabbi Michael and Liora Stein at the Jonas‟s home, 3020 Palisade Ave, on Sunday, September 14th at 7:30 PM. The event is

poster-making and passing out literature for the People's Climate March will occur on the grounds of the Church of the Mediator.
