It is true that the days of our lives are “as sands through the hourglass.”

Jesus is from eternity.

Days of Our Lives.”

“In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to him who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence” (v 7, ESV).

prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him. And he said, ‘Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will’” (Mk 15:35-36, ESV).

The thrust of this passage is certainly on the Garden & the cross.◦ Mk 15:35-36. ◦ “Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, ‘Father, into your hands

I commit my Spirit!’ And having said this he breathed his last” (Lk 23:46, ESV).

Jesus prayed to the One who could save him from death.

Jesus prayed to the One who could save him from death.◦ We dare not forget that we pray to a God with all power!


“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever” (Eph 3:20-21, ESV).

Our God has the power to answer every prayer!

Jesus prayed to the One who could save him from death.◦ We dare not forget that we pray to a God with all power!◦ Jesus was heard because of his reverence.


What an amazing statement!


What an amazing statement! Sometimes we seem to think that if God doesn’t answer according to our

will, he hasn’t heard or we’ve sinned or we didn’t pray hard enough.

Great things happened because the Father told Jesus, “No.”

Through his suffering, the Lord Jesus was made perfect.

to completion.

Through his suffering, the Lord Jesus was made perfect. Therefore, he became the source of eternal life to the

obedient.

We can also be the source of eternal salvation to people.

“So you, son of man, I have made a watchman for the house of Israel. Whenever you hear a word from my mouth, you shall give them warning from me. If I say to the wicked, O wicked one, you shall surely die, and you do not speak to warn the wicked to turn from his way, that wicked person shall die in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. Jesus was called to be a priest.

Jesus was called to be a priest.◦ That Jesus is a priest in the order of Melchizedek means that Jesus,

like the priestly-king, was not a descendent of Aaron.

God is not calling us to be priests after the order of Melchizedek, but he is calling us to ministry.


The Lord has given us talents he expects to be used in his service.
