Heavy Engineering Corporation or "HEC" is aPublic
SectorUndertaking("PSU") inIndia. It is one of India's oldest
andlargest engineering companies. It is the biggest industry of
its
kind in Asia. HEC is under the Ministry of Heavy
Industries,Govt. Of India. Established in the year 1958 in Ranchi
thecapital city of Jharkhand as the largest integrated
engineeringindustrial complex in India with excellent design,
engineering,and manufacturing base. The company is engaged in
themanufacture and supply of capital equipments, machine toolsand
spares needed for the core sector industries.
Currently the chairman of HEC is R. Misra.

It consists of three units:
Heavy Machine Building Plant (HMBP).
Design & Manufactures Equipment and Spares fordifferent
Sectors.
Heavy Machine Tools Plant (HMTP).
Design & Manufactures CNC & Conventional machinetools in
medium & heavier ranges. Manufactures specialpurpose railway
machine tools and reconditions oldmachine tools.
Foundry Forge Plant (FFP)
Manufactures heavy castings & forgings and rolls for
hot& cold rolling mills for steel plants
