A couple of thousand years ago, guided by celestial navigation,
the first Polynesian settlers bravely sailed on their large outrigger canoes,
presumably from South East Asia, driven by their hope to find
a new heaven. A special place was awaiting them in the middle of the South
Pacific Ocean. This tropical gem, which became their new home,
was Tahiti and Her Islands.
The first migrants remained isolated from the rest of the world for
at least 1,500 years, exploring the islands over centuries,
living in harmony with nature.
In search of Eldorado…
This territory, also called French Polynesia,
counts 118 beautiful islands as her own and all are as pristine today
as they were the time the first Europeans set out to explore
the Pacific Ocean.
Although Spanish galleons came within sight of the outer islands
in the early 1600s looking for « Terra Australis Incognita »,
it took them more than another century to start exploring this area.
Nowadays, these islands unveil their uniqueness to Superyachts
and their guests in the quest for secluded and safe places, certainly
amongst the last untouched paradises on Earth.
Welcome to Tahiti and Her Islands, Heaven for Superyachts.

Visitors arriving by sea feel the emotion that moved Captain Cook when he first
spotted, in 1768, what is now known as Tahiti. He was delighted at
how easy it was to navigate amongst these islands and sail into the various
lagoons through the passes naturally made in the coral fringed reef.
But Tahiti & Her Islands is much more than peaceful scenic landscapes
and incredible underwater worlds.
As the first South Pacific hub for Superyachts after Panama, absolutely
everything is suited to these vessels and their passengers at any time
of the year. The weather is drier between May and October and more humid
from November to April. The average temperature is 27°C year round.
The finest match between authenticity and development…

The ultimate charter destination…
Many yachts choose to charter in French Polynesia year-round.
The usual preferred archipelagos to cruise on a first trip
are the Society islands and the Tuamotu atolls.
Your choice will mostly depend on two factors : How long would you like
to charter and what would you like to do?
Should you have one week to devote to our part of the world, you may be
focusing on one set of islands only. In more than a week, you will enjoy visiting
two different archipelagos and exploring the incredible diversity
from one place to another.

Te Moana Nui… « The big ocean » has always played a prominent role in the Polynesians’
everyday life, especially in the remote islands.
Having been isolated for so many centuries, the Tahitians take pride
in sharing their culture and lifestyle with guests. Always friendly with a broad
smile on their face, it will be with great pleasure that they will narrate
their ancestors’ ocean oriented legends and take you to a « marae »,
one of the ancient archeological sites where religious and political events
were held prior to the arrival of the Europeans.

Te Moana Nui… The Tahitians have always loved and considered music and singing
as one of their means of communication. At the sound of the ukulele
and toere drums, the graceful traditional dancers will depict moving
stories through refined gestures, songs and exquisite costumes.
dancers and musicians will arrive on outrigger canoes for a private
show on your yacht. These canoes reflect how attached
the people are to the sea as it has remained the most popular sport
in Tahiti and Her Islands. You will often see them practice
at sunset for the famous yearly Hawaiki nui canoe race which takes
place in november. There, hundreds of modern colourful outrigger
canoes compete for a three day contest between
the islands of Huahine and Bora Bora.
Of course, none could think of Tahiti without mentioning
the ultimate gem, preciously cultured in the islands’ warm lagoons,
and worn by all the Polynesians as a symbol of their attachment
to the ocean: the Tahitian cultured pearl. This delicate pearl, the result
of tireless efforts, feature various shapes and incredible colours.
none is alike and their uniqueness makes them rare and special…
In the Tuamotu and Gambier islands, a visit to a pearl farm is a must.

« French Polynesia has to offer stunning scenery
of the Society Islands and the amazing underwater world/marine
life of the Tuamotu. With the friendly inviting hospitality
of the Tahitians, it is one of our favourite destinations.
Something to offer for everyone. »
Captain drarg Richards, M/Y Seawolf
«during our extensive cruising throughout French Polynesia
on MY Mary Jean, we have discovered some of the finest diving
that one is likely to encounter any where in the world.
Together with the many stunning sheltered and varied
anchorages in the island groups of Tuamotu and Society,
the perfect climate, friendly people and great support network,
it is hard to beat as a destination for Superyacht Owners, guests
and crew.»
Captain Will Givens, M/Y Mary Jean
« I have heard great things about Tahiti since I was a child.
It always seemed to be an essence of pleasure.
Recently, I had a chance to visit French Polynesia and it was
a long time dream come true. With its smiling people,
beautiful flowers everywhere, great beaches and crystal clear
water, it is a heaven on Earth. Wildlife is awesome! It is surprising
how close you can come to whales, sharks, stingrays,
while snorkelling or diving. At the same time, it is a very
developed place with high end hotels, spas,
fine dining restaurants, supermarkets and marinas
that yacht owners, captains and crew will appreciate. »
