Gyu Won was getting sulky again upon remembering the audition.

It was Sunday afternoon and they were snuggling on the couch in Shins living room,

watching TV and eating popcorn. With rehearsals for the musical starting the next day,they chose to stay at home and rest instead of going out. Shins mom and Gyu Wons dadleft about an hour ago to attend a musical they were writing a review on while Jung Hyun

was next door with Grandpa, practicing for her gukak competition to be held next month.

Aware that both of them would be very busy in the coming days, Shin was quite satisfiedspending one last lazy day with Gyu Won.

Lee Gyu Won, its been a week. Let it go. Shin said. He kissed the top of her head to softenthe rebuke. Anyway, even if I change my mind, Ki Young already passed the audition so

hes the lead actor. What part do you want me to play, the sidekick?

Gyu Won pouted and punched Shin playfully. Ki Young called earlier and told them he gotthe lead role. Although shes happy and excited to work with Ki Young Oppa again, Gyu

Won couldnt help but feel disappointed that it wasnt Shin whom shell be paired up with.But she congratulated Ki Young sincerely and they agreed to meet at the agency the next

morning for discussion of the CF.

I still havent forgiven you completely, you know. Im just too lazy to argue right now. Her

tone was still a bit disappointed. But next time, Ill get really mad if you say no again. Shetook some popcorn from the bowl and fed some to Shin.

Gyu Won Unnie! Jung Hyuns voice rang out from the doorway. You two are not kissingagain, are you?

Startled, Gyu Won tried to pull away from Shin but he wouldnt let her so she just lookedover his shoulder to answer. No, were not. What is it?

Grandpa says to go home and prepare dinner already. Its almost six.

Jung Hyun-ah, Shin called to his sister without looking. Ill give you ten dollars if youhelp Grandpa prepare dinner.

Huh? Thats too low, Oppa! Like you dont know how annoying Grandpa could be.. But

Ill do it for twenty dollars.

Thats a deal. Without removing his other arm around Gyu Won, Shin reached for his

wallet, pulled out twenty dollars and handed it to his sister. Jung Hyun dashed out of thehouse, yelling to Grandpa that shed help him with dinner.

You know its bad that youre always bribing her, right? Gyu Won was trying her best tosound irritated but failing.

I know but I dont care. Shin said with a wide smile. He really should go back to

performing regularly in Catharsis. At the rate he was bribing Jung Hyun just so he and GyuWon could spend more time together, his savings would run out very, very soon. But as he

said, he really didnt care at all.

He gave Gyu Won another quick kiss. And as he hugged her closer, he whispered,

You know what? Since Sunday is technically the start of the week, I think this is going to

be a really, really good week.

area. Have you signed the contract already?

Im signing it today before the discussion. Ki Young said. How are you? We havent

talked that much since you left for England. Are you well?

Young said to himself, shes really very pretty when she smiles.

He couldnt help but smile back.

The director will see you now, the receptionist announced. Ki Young took Gyu Wons arm

and they entered the directors office.

The director had just finished explaining the storyline of the commercial film to them. Itwas for the launch of Samsungs new couple phone. In the storyline, the two of them will

act as newly-weds on their honeymoon who unknowingly bought the same set of phones togive to each other. The ending scene of the CF was a passionate kiss.

Gyu Won thought about it for a moment and shook her head.

No. I think its alright. Anyway, its just work. Shin will understand. And he trusts you,Oppa. She was smiling as she reassured him.

Are you sure? Because if you were my girlfriend. Ki Young drifted off.

Huh?

Uhh Nothing. Are you sure Shin wouldnt mind? He wouldnt get angry with me?

Gyu Won thought she was gonna go deaf. She slowly drew the phone closer to her ear

again to check if it was safe.

Shin called to ask if she was done with the meeting since he was supposed to pick her up togo to the rehearsal. Unfortunately, Gyu Won made the mistake of telling him about the

storyline over the phone. She was paying for that small mistake now by virtue of a rupturedeardrum. Shin was shouting so loudly that Gyu Won had to hold her phone three inches

away from her ear.

She drew a deep breath and tried to reason with him. How will I do that? Its Samsung

who approved the storyline. Do you think theyll change it just because I asked? she asked,trying to sound calm and reasonable.

So youre going to do it even if I dont want you to?

But. I already signed the contract and the shoot is scheduled two days from now. I cantjust back out. Gyu Won could feel her temper rising so she took deep breaths and silently

started counting to a hundred.

She turned off her phone and sat down on the sidewalk, hiding her face from passers-bywho were looking at her.

Outside his house, Shin stood in shock as he listened to the dial tone. He had no idea whatjust happened. Just minutes ago, he could feel Gyu Wons smile reaching out to him over

the phone when she answered his call.What just happened there?

He tried calling her again but her phone was turned off. God! He screwed up big time. Itwasnt Gyu Wons fault that the storyline was like that. He shouldve controlled his temper.

He shouldnt have shouted at her. He wished he could turn back time if only for a fewminutes so he could take back whatever he said on the phone. No, hed turn time back to

last week so he could audition for the part again.

Shin ran his fingers through his hair in frustration and went back in to get his bike. He had

to find her. Yesterday, he thought this would be a great week. Now, hes starting to realize

it could probably turn out to be the worst.

Shin thought as he parked his bike. He just arrived at the rehearsal studio after his fruitless

search for Gyu Won in the ad agency. He had been calling her non-stop but she wouldntpick up. He sprinted inside hoping shed already be practicing with the rest but was

surprised to see that Hee Joo was playing the part of the lead actress.

Lee Shin. Good thing youre here, Suk Hyun said as he looked up from studying thescript.We need to do some revisions for the musical score in Act 2.

Why is Hee Joo taking the lead? Shin asked. Wheres Lee Gyu Won?

Huh? She called earlier and said shes sick. Didnt you know? Suk Hyun asked, puzzled.

Hey! Where are you going? We need to talk about the revisions!

I cant today. Shin said, already walking towards the exit. Ill call you later.

This is not good. Man, this is so not good, Shin muttered as he leaned his forehead on Gyu

Wons door.

wheedling seemed to have any sort of effect at all. Even Dad already gave up and asked

Hyuns gukak session was also cut short as Grandpa joined Shin in his impromptuvigil/pacing session outside Gyu Wons door.

Aigoo, when is this going to end? Grandpa burst out in an exasperated voice.

Weve been knocking for two hours now. If she was going to come out, she would have

already! Oi, Lee Gyu Won! Ay, this child! Shes as stubborn as her father! Grandpa shook

his fist at the door as if it werethe one responsible for all the madness.

Grandpa, cant you make her come out? Shes supposed to listen to you, right? Cant youorder her

Both Shin and Grandpa jumped as Gyu Won came out of her room, flashed Shin an angrylook and went straight to the kitchen. The two men looked at each other, unsure of what to

do next.

But before they could react, Gyu Won, holding a glass of water, darted past them back to

her room and closed the door quick as lightning. And before they knew it, theyre back tostaring at Gyu Wons door. At Gyu Wons closed unresponsive. door.

Grandpa grasped his head with both hands and went to his room, leaving Shin to wallow in

his misery.

The bright light coming in from the windows woke Gyu Won. She groped for the clock onthe bedside table and checked the time. It was just a little before nine o clock.

Ugh! I overslept. Damn that Lee Shin for pounding on my door until midnight. Shesaid asshe got up.

She did her routine stretching exercises, opened the door and stepped out

. and promptly stepped on a sleeping Lee Shin, all bundled up in a thick blanket outside

her door.

Ya! What are you doing? Why are you sleeping on the floor? Why are you sleeping IN MY

HOUSE? The combination of worry, confusion and shock made Gyu Won forget that she

was angry at him.

Still half-asleep, Shin sat up, blinking. It took him a moment to gather his senses before herealized Gyu Won was half-kneeling in front of him and talking to him.

Lee Gyu Won! he exclaimed as he grabbed Gyu Won in a bear hug and she ended up

sitting on his lap. Thank God! I thought youre not going to speak to me again.

Ugh! I cant breathe! Gyu Won gasped. Let go! Grandpa and Dad might see us!

Both of them left early. And no, Im not letting you go. Not in this lifetime. Shin said, but

he relaxed his hold a bit so Gyu Won could breathe.

They didnt talk much, didnt discuss what happened the previous day. It was enough that

they were hugging each other again as they sat in silence.

Are you still mad at me? Shin asked softly, stroking her hair and kissing her ear.

You were being such a baby. Gyu Won said in a sulky voice.

I know and Im sorry. Im not going to do it again.

She straightened up and looked him in the eye.

Im going to do the CF, her tone was firm and could not be argued with.

Okay.

Ki Young Oppa and I will act as a couple.

Okay.

Were gonna have to do the kissing scene.

Silence.

She could still feel the reluctance in Shins voice. Gyu Wonremoved her arm around Shinswaist and cupped his face with her hands.

The scene is sad. This music is sad. If this is any sadder, Id be sitting on the floor crying

my eyes out like a baby by now, Shin said in a sarcastic tone. What exactly do you want?

Suk Hyun sighed as if in pain and explained.

If its just about being sad then theres nothing wrong with what you have. But its not just

about sadness. There are a lot of other feelings associated with this scene. The musicneeds to show those feelings too. Aigoo, this guy, he said impatiently.

No. Shins face clouded as he remembered all the conflicting emotions he felt during that

simple worry for a friend. But right now, watching her talking with Lee Shin over thephone, watching her smile, he was surprised to feel this dreadful weight pressing down on

his chest.

If a person could overdose with happiness, Id be dead by now. Ki Young thought to himself ashe stared at a laughing Gyu Won seated across the table from him. He was beginning toconsider these past two days as the happiest he had been his entire life.

They had just finished filming for the second day and most of the scenes needed for the CFwere already shot. Tomorrow, they would film the final kiss scene. Some of the crew

would be going back to Seoul in the evening while he and Gyu Won, among others, were

scheduled to take the Sunday morning flight back.

Although he knew it was wrong, Ki Young decided to allow himself to pretend that he andGyu Won were really a couple. He was trying to justify his actions with the rational that he

was doing it as an actor and that he was just immersing himself in his role.But, in his heart, he knew that it wasnt just that. As Ki Young, not as an actor, he wantedthis chance to be close to her.

The storyline wasnt helping. All the scenes theyd shot were of a loving couple, filled withsweet and tender moments and every time the director said Cut, he had to summon every

ounce of his self-control just to pull away from her and act like it was nothing.

Just until tomorrow, Ki Young promised himself. When we get back to Seoul, I will give up on

her. She belongs to another. Ill definitely make sure I give up on her when we get back to

Seoul.

Earth to Oppa,earth to Oppa! Gyu Wons melodic voice pulled him back to the present.

Fortunately, Lee Shin was showing signs that he could be a good actor. True, he was still arough around the edges, but he had the intensity to become brilliant. And it helped that he

wrote the music for the play as he didnt have any problems interpreting its feelings.

Now, if only he would just focus on acting instead of guarding Lee Gyu Won.

Suk Hyun sighed and deliberated if it was safe to go back and check on Hee Joos and Shins

progress. Then he stood up and decided to brave Hee Joos tantrum for the greater good.

It was Saturday morning and it had been a week since she got back from Japan. The

whirlwind of activity for the upcoming opening night of the musical had started.Rehearsals became more frenetic and urgent. The director was now putting extreme

pressure to all participants and, because of the three days that she and Ki Young spent inJapan, they had to catch up with a lot of changes made while they were away.

With school and the entire ruckus surrounding the musical, Gyu Won barely had time tobreathe, let alone spend quality time with Shin.Gyu Won didnt want to admit it but Shinhad been acting strange since she came back.

They didnt get to talk much when he picked her up from the airport because Shin fellasleep in the cab and only woke up when they were already home. The next morning, he

family. They wouldnt have seen each other that day had she not gone to Catharsis to catch

the bands performance.

During the past week, the only time they spent together was when they left the house in the

morning. Even then, when she tried to talk to him, Shin sounded distant and distracted like his mind was elsewhere. And as soon as they got to school or to the rehearsals, they

each had other things to do and couldnt talk anymore.

But its not just the busy schedule. Somethings really not right. Gyu Won thought. The last
