    Eat less white food When you eat white bread, whiterice, white pasta and white potatoes the level of blood sugarin your bloodstream spikes. It is believed that eating thesefoods causes overeating because after your blood sugarspikes it dips and your body craves carbohydrates.

    Stress relief Find healthy ways to manage your stress.In addition to eating well and finding time for rest, seek outsupport from someone you can trust.     Meditate This is an effective stress-buster that has beenpracticed for thousands of years. There are many techniquesfor meditating and one of the chief benefits of practicingmeditation is the fact that it calms your mind.

    Eat less salt Salt is known to increase blood pressurebecause it causes the body to retain fluids which puts anextra burden on your heart. Eating too much salt will increaseyour likelihood of developing heart disease, and increasesyour risk of osteoporosis, stroke and kidney disease.

    Manage blood pressure Uncontrolled high blood pressure,or hypertension, is one of the risk factors for strokes, heartdisease and heart attacks, aneurysms and kidney failure.     Manage diabetes Diabetes also is a risk factor for heartdisease. It can be prevented, but when developed as a resultof poor diet and lack of exercise, it can be controlled througheducation and lifestyle changes.     Get good sleep In recent years research has pointed tothe fact that lack of sleep contributes to disease and causesweight gain. Sleep well and you will more likely find peace ofmind and the energy you need to get through the day.
