Healthy Food Coupons - Couponing Is NOT Just About Saving Money

If you are pursuing maximal savings possible by diving into extreme couponing, I understand. Perhaps you have a big family to feed, and with salaries these days, one can just not afford to pay the full prices for the necessities. That would be

considered splurging these days. You really need Coupons 101 Course of some kind.

Or maybe you just like the feeling you get when, instead of paying hundreds of dollars at the checkout, you just pay for five of your shopping carts full of groceries with a ten dollar bill. Taken to the extreme, this would be called Extreme Couponing 101.

Also, it is just not in our genes to negotiate with the grocery store to get the lower price. That only works in the bazaars in a few parts of the world. In the US, grocery coupons, manufacturers coupons, online coupons, BOGO coupons (buy one get one), coupons for milk, and diapers coupons are the order of the day for savvy shoppers.

But today, we have extreme couponing! But is extreme savings with extreme couponing really what is best for you?

How to coupon effectively? To figure out the best way how to use coupons, we need to ask ourselves what our priorities

are. We need to ask ourselves what is our time worth. For example, if you have a family of 8 to feed, and you would, without the coupons, be spending $1,600 a month on groceries, and you end up getting just about everything you buy for naught, then you are effectively making $1,600 a month or, perhaps, including taxes, $2,500 a month.

Saving money with coupons in this way is the equivalent of making about $20,000 to $30,000 a year in a job. Quite a decent payout considering that you never have to commute to a job, and respond to the whims of a boss that you may not like, and play corporate politics.

But is the picture really that simple? That is where you need to ask yourself, is saving money really everything you are after? What about maintaining your health and general well-being?
