Not All Air Cleaners are Created EqualEiciency statements o many air cleaners can look impressive at irst glance, but the actual efectiveness o the air cleaner oten

does not match the claims made or the product. Air cleaners with HEPA ilters oten advertise eiciencies o 99.97% or particles o

0.3 microns and larger. (That is about 240 times smaller than the width o a human hair.) That sounds very impressive, but this claim

is based on the theoretical eiciency o the HEPA ilter material used and not on the actual clean air produced by the air cleaner

Why the Smallest Particles are the Most DangerousMost air cleaners are only designed and tested to ilter particles 0.3 microns and larger, but this

size range only makes up approximately 10% o all airborne particulates. A much more dangerous

particle size that is not addressed by the majority o consumer air cleaners are ultra-ine particles.

Numerous scientiic studies have proven that ultra-ine particles are the most harmul to our health.

Ultra-ine particles are deined as those particles 0.1 microns in size and smaller. These particles are

in a size range that is much easier to inhale and absorb into our lungs than larger particulates. In the

Ater being inhaled into the lungs, ultra-ine particles can be absorbed through lung tissue and

Pet Dander: Size 0.003-25 microns. Pet dander is the old skin akes and

ur that your pet sheds. Pet dander is a known asthma and allergy trigger.Pet dander can be ound anywhere in a home: loors, carpets, walls,

urniture, bedding, ceilings, and is so small it can even become attached

to your clothing even i you do not own a pet.

Dust Mites: Size 0.003-25 microns. Dust mites are tiny insects that thrivein warm, humid, and dark conditions like mattresses, carpets, sheets,

pillows, and upholstery. Dustmites themselves do not cause allergic
