Health Informatics Skills Update
Hello and welcome to my Health Informatics Skills update for September 2010
Please find below the skills update for September 2010, there are a Number of Health informatics specialists here that I’m working with and are available for their next career move or contract, a nice mix ranging across all areas of Health IT both Primary and Secondary experience and across a large variety of clinical systems.
I’m finding that candidates with a clinical or medical background are still the leaders in terms of rare yet sought after by many clients, as is those with previous knowledge of other systems available on the healthcare market.

Star Candidate of the month
Our star contractor of the month is a highly experienced senior Project/ Programme Manager (Prince II) with over 11 years healthcare experience as a contractor. He is now looking for the right role in a Private Healthcare setting on a permanent basis. His key strengths lie in PAS systems and acute healthcare with an excellent understanding of Cerner Millennium and TPP SystmOne. Candidate A- IT Consultant with a strong background in Biomedical Science Candidate A is a highly experienced biomedical scientist with over 6 years direct Bio-Med experience specialising in Microbiology. He not only has worked for a major player in the clinical software industry but has played a vital role in training and maintaining vital comprehensive information and training programme for scientific, technical and support staff for the department. Candidate B- Solution delivery consultant Candidate B has nearly 10 years Health informatics experience in both Primary and secondary care clinical solutions. Throughout her career she has developed an understanding second to none of the implementation processes for Cerner Millennium’s CORE solutions in most London Programme for IT NHS Trusts including Bart’s and the London and St George’s NHS Trust, and is now working with a leading Primary Care Solution provider for mobile healthcare. Candidate C- Managing Solution Architect and Biomedical Scientist Level 3Candidate C is a level 3 biomedical scientist who is currently managing the solution architecture for a leading Local Solution Provider. Candidate C is an experienced deployment consultant in Pathology Order Communications with Siemens, the NHS, IDX and Cerner Millennium. His career history includes Project management for EPR implementations and Pathology LIMS replacements, Clinical analysis, and currently manages a large team of Pathology systems developers whilst acting as the Pathology subject matter expert. Candidate D- Technical Project Manager Candidate D is a structured yet pragmatic technical project manager with significant change, bid and business development support. This excellent Project manager has worked in a large proportion of acute settings managing projects including iPM, iCM, Cerner Millennium, and World Class Commissioning for Humana Ltd. He’s a Prince 2 Practitioner and is highly skilled in Microsoft Project products. Candidate D is available from the end of September and is looking for ideally permanent opportunities however will consider contracts in the Home Counties area. Send me more details for Candidate D
Candidate E- Communications ManagerCandidate E is a Communications manager with expertise in e-Comms. She will be available from mid November as she will be leaving to move to the North of England from London.
Candidate E oversaw NHS London’s Media campaigns alongside a team of Comms officers. She not only managed London’s full media campaign but aided HR Portal training and e-learning development. E-Comms is her preference and can engage with stakeholders of a high level. Candidate E is ideally looking for permanent opportunities in the North of England and is willing to commute. Candidate F- Senior Project Manager/PMOCandidate F has managed many Health Sector bespoke development and deployment projects through full life cycle including preparing PID, Business Case, Requirements, Testing and Implementation, and managing Third Party Suppliers/Developers. He is experienced in Business Process Transformation – including engaging users/stakeholders in As Is, To Be, Gap Analysis and Benefits Realisation.Candidate F has an Extensive background of Implementation, Stakeholder Management and Transformation (working and functional processes) within Health Service (Primary, Acute and HPA), Utilities Industry and Private Sectors.Candidate F is looking ideally for a permanent opportunity however would consider contract opportunitiesSend me more details for Candidate F
