Dear McLean Community,

May 2018

Health Center Newsletter

Happy spring! May the unpredictable spring weather of April turn into warm and sunny May days!

We have exciting garden news to share with you! We are moving forward with our renovations to the garden and gazebo. The new courtyard will be filled with an intentional walking pathway within a gated area. This area will include a brand new gazebo and a second shade structure for residents and families to enjoy! We are adding a fire pit, as well as new seating areas. These gardens will continue to expand over the next few years as our plantings mature and additional garden beds are added, and next year, we hope to add a relaxing water feature to the space. We expect to be able to use this area by July of this year. In the meantime, we will provide extra tables and chairs out on the front patio for your outdoor enjoyment!

We would like to warmly welcome Karen Morris to our community in the role of Campus Liaison. Karen is a gifted social worker who will be able to help our Campus residents navigate the many issues one faces with aging. She also is well versed in the resources our McLean campus offers and is eager to share her knowledge with all. Karen also works for McLean Home Care on a per diem basis. Welcome Karen! She can be reached at 860-658-3952.

Please remember, our doors are always open to you at any time.
