JANUARY 2015 MIF NEWSLETTER HEALTH CAMPS OUTSIDE DELHI MULTI SPECIALITY CAMP AT BODH GAYA Max India Foundation in association with His Holiness Karmapa’s Kagyupa International Monlam Trust started the New Year on an auspicious note by organizing a Multi-Speciality Health Camp at Bodh Gaya from 3rd to 5th Jan. Free consultations from specialists of Max Healthcare: Dr Sumit Sethi, Dr Anupam Prakash (Internal Medicine), Dr Nitin Walia (Dermatologist), Dr Shailja Chawla (Gynaecologist) and Dr Chandra Sekhar (Pediatrics) were provided to 1785 people in three days along with free medicines. Health camp in association with NGO Seva Mandir at Dholi Ghati. RAJASTHAN: Max India Foundation through its partner NGO Seva Mandir conducted 4 General health check up camps at Pattiya, Dholi Ghati, Amba ka vela and Helpiya in Rajasthan. Total 245 free consultations were provided along with free medicines. 2 camps were organized last month at Dabban and Undithal benefitting 139 people from the surrounding areas. REWARI: 2 General health check camp were organized on 7th Jan and 14th Jan 2015 at Banipur village and Raipur village, Rewari in association with NGO Youthreach. Dr Jeevan (Pediatrician), Dr Shreeba (General Physician) and Nikhil Optometrist from Max Homecare checked total 548 people. Free medicines were provided to the needy. Health Camps in DELHI and NCR a. 13 Multi speciality health check camps were organized in association with NGO partner Banjara Mahila at the following locations; Dasghara, Todapur, Shiv Basti, Kirti Nagar, Delhi Gate, Jahangirpuri, Palam Gaon, Rohini, Badli, Gareeb basti, Bawana, JJ colony and Jawahar camp. 1412 people were given free health consultation and medicines. b. 7 General health check camps were organized with partner NGOs; Jamghat, AVON, GMR Foundation, Vibhuti Welfare Trust and Chetnalaya in different locations of Delhi and NCR: Sunder Nagri, Sangam Vihar, Narela, Munirka, Dwarka, Burari and Kalu Sarai. Total 1272 people received free consultations. BP, weight and random blood sugar were also checked and free medicines provided. c. 2 ENT and Dental check camps were organized in association with Shine Foundation at Ghijore village, Noida on 13th Jan 2015 and 20th Jan 2015. Dr Keshav (Max Hospital, Saket) provided free ENT consultations to 100 people. Dr Keshav (ENT) and Dr Maurya (Dentist) provided consultations to 185 people. Free medicines were also given. d. 2 Eye camps were organized with NGO partners Child Survival India and NGO Rasta on 16th and 29th Jan 2015 at locations; Sanjay Transport nagar and Ghazipur. 373 people were checked and provided with free medicines. e. Monthly Health check up was conducted by Dr Rahul for 25 children of NGO Jamghat at their Lado Sarai centre.

HEALTH AWARENESS THROUGH PUPPET SHOWS A puppet show on Health and Hygiene was performed at 6 camps and received a thunderous response. The puppeteers of Katputli Colony make a livelihood while we add value to our camps. The show created a lot of interest among 1320 community people.

REPRESENTATION AT FORUMS: Mrs. Mohini Daljeet Singh was invited to speak on "Social Innovation for Economic Growth & Business Sustainability" organized by IOD at Mumbai on 19th and 20th Jan 2015.

TO BEAT THE CHILL90 sweaters were distributed to the children of a school run by NGO SETU in Noida, 250 blankets were donated to NGO AVON for the housekeeping staff from slum areas of Rangpuri and Mahipalpur and 400 sweaters were distributed to children of government school through NGO Nulife.

• 49 yr old man underwent CABG. • 1 month old baby provided treatment for septicemia.• 21 days old boy treated for pneumonia.• 17 yr old boy treated for rectal carcinoma.• 1 yr old boy from Iraq treated for a congenital heart disease• 19 yr old girl underwent facial reconstruction.• 14 children referred by Afghan Red Crescent Society were operated for congenital heart disease.

@ Max Hospital, West block, Saket. • A young girl of 5 yrs received treatment for liver injury• 73 yr old man provided treatment for renal disease• 75 yr old woman with liver disease given treatment.

@ Max Hospital, Shalimar Bagh • 60 yr old lady referred by the social service wing of Shri Ram College of Commerce underwent cataract surgery

@ Max Hospital, Dehradun• 20 yr old boy with liver disease provided treatment.

@ Max Hospital, Patparganj• 16 yr old boy provided critical care for multiple organ failure.

@ Max Hospital, Mohali Cataract surgeries for 17 patients identified at the Behrampur Bet Camp were carried out at Max Hospital, Mohali.

@ Max Hospital, NoidaMax India Foundation facilitated free health consultation for 28 children from Udayancare.
