• 500 sample (3,000 nationally) of high risk metal pipe in 2010;

• Commercial/industrial not domestic premises;

• Central approach to major employers (eg Vion)

Enforcement strategy

• Pipework – if user proves replacement scheduled – OK and CV;– if clearly badly corroded or damaged – PN;– if no replacement

strategy/inspection/examination/maintenance – IN

• Bulk tanks– separation distances;– ventilation around tanks; – open drains;– vegetation;– security and impact protection.

• Capacity of suppliers for pipe replacement
