Prayer to release trauma has been one of my most used, (and most loved!) Elijah House tools. I’ve used the prayer for Christians and non-Christians all over the world…it is an incredibly useful evangelism tool as well. …People are just so thankful to have an answer for the pain they’ve carried for so long! Some testimonies…. “Trauma prayers pave the way to help people breakthrough their stuck places. Many are just so stuck in their pain and bitterness. When we pray for the release of trauma, they are better able to forgive and receive more of the healing that God wants to do.” (VirmiNery, Philippines) (Testimony of an EH graduate from Maryland, USA,who prayed for a person who was traumatizedas she and her fellow workers tried (unsuccessfully) to resuscitate a drowning victim.)... “It is SO great to have the tools to respond to such a situation and be able to make a difference in the moment. I had recently watched some of Sandra’s trauma DVD’s, and her testimonies emboldened me to ‘test drive’ trauma” prayer. Thank you for providing such excellent resources!” “A group of kids in an orphanage in Bohol Island witnessed a shoot-out at the public square during a community event. One person died, and the kids were transported in the same vehicle as the injured and dead. Shortly after this, most of the kids exhibited various symptoms of trauma. We prepared a very simple, short/children-friendly version of the trauma seminar. Everything was translated to the Visayan language. When we prayed trauma prayer for the kids, God's healing presence came so sweetly and powerfully. The next day, the majorly traumatised kids among the group were even willing to visit the place again. Whereas previously, their "parents" could not even coach them out of the gates. They were willing to come with me and it was a beautiful testimony for the villagers as well. We also prayedtrauma off the land. It was just amazing and worth all the travelling to far-flung places!”(Elijah House Philippines) “You might be interested to know I had 4 rounds of chemotherapy. After 2 rounds it all started to get to me and I knew it was a mental battle. I asked Marie to pray for me and release the trauma from going to chemo. It made a huge difference. While it is not a pleasant experience I don’t feel traumatized or agitated. Pleased it’s over, but very peaceful about it. Just thought it might help someone else going through chemo to get prayer and be released from the trauma of it. Could do this because of your teaching. Thanks so much!!” (Pastor Anne, Australia) We see the effects of trauma all around us, but only a Wound Bitterness, anger, unforgiveness, Bitter Judgments, Expectancies Inner Vows Lies Habits Patterns Addictions False Refuges Sinful behavior Elijah House NZ Advanced Prayer Ministry Training Healing Trauma Seminar With Sandra and Peter Kersten More “tools” for your toolbox! When you took your Elijah House School, you received wonderful tools for prayer ministry. You learned about Bitter Root Judgments, Expectancies, Lies, Inner Vows.; how to recognize sinful fruit, how to “go to the root”, and how to bring the sin to death on the Cross. This seminar focuses on ministry to the heart’s wound… to the root of WHY the structures were built in the first place. This tool (of praying to release trauma) does not replace our other tools of dismantling the structure of sin, but helps facilitate the healing process.

Advanced Prayer Ministry Training

 Healing Trauma

Seminar With Sandra and Peter Kersten

More  “tools”  for  your  toolbox!

We   see   the   effects   of   trauma   all   around   us,   but  onlyafew  have  enough  training  to  know  how  to  help.  We   end   up   putting   Band-‐Aids   on   people   who   are  bleeding   to   death   emotionally.   Unfortunately,  sometimes   the   ‘cure’has   only   compounded   the  wound. In   this   seminar   you   will   learn   how   to   “go  beyondthe  bandage”.  You  will  learn  how  to:    • Recognize  the  different  types  of  traumas:  ⎯ (Fear-‐based,   Physical,   Betrayal,   Loss,   Emotional,

Neglect,   Secondary,   Generational,   Trauma  absorbed  in  matter.)

• Recognize  the  fruit  of  unresolved  trauma:    ⎯ (Physical,  Emotional  and  Spiritual)

 • Recognize   how   people   get   stuck   in   trauma   and

past  pain  (and  how  they  can  get  out!)

• Recognize   soul   ties,   fear/   trauma   bonds,   and  how  to  break  them.

• Minister  to  the  heart’s  wound.

• Dismantle   the   stronghold   of   trauma,   and  structures   of   pain   avoidance,   self-‐protection,  shame,  etc.

• Pray  specifically  for  release  of  trauma.

• Minister   deliverance   to   the   traumatized   when  necessary,  in  gentle  (but  effective  ways).

The  seminar  will  also  include:    ~Live  demonstrations     ~Q&A  ~Corporate    ministry                                                          ~Altar  ministry  ~‘Soaking’  times  ~Communion  for  those  who  wish  to  receive  it.

Sandra’s   note…   In   2005   I   had   two   very   sobering  visions.  The   first  was  of  a  huge  brown  wave  of  water  that   came   crashing   down.   The   vision   was   terrifyingly  real  and  I  ‘heard’  in  my  spirit  the  words  “Batten  down  the  hatches.”  I  didn’t  know  what  the  vision  meant,  but  I   looked   up   the   phrase   and   learned   that   it   meant  “prepare   for   trouble,or   prepare   for   a   storm”…so   I  knew  that  it  was  a  warning  vision.  I  prayed  in  the  Spirit  for   a   couple   of   weeks,   and   one   day   opened   up   the  newspaper   to   read   the   headlines:   “New   Orleans  Under   20   Feet   of   Water,   People   Flooding   to   Baton  Rouge.”  I  understood  that  the  vision  was  a  call  to  pray  concerning  Hurricane  Katrina…  not  only  for  the  people  who   were   devastated   by   the   hurricane,   but   also   for  those   receiving   and   helping   the   homeless,   destitute  flood  of  people.

Two  weeks  later  I  had  another  vision  of  another  wave.  This   one   was   bigger   and   uglier   than   the   first,   and   I  heard   the  words  “There   is  a  wave  of   trauma  coming  that   is   bigger   than   Katrina,   bigger   than   the   (2004)  Tsunami  and  the  church  MUST  be  prepared  to  help!”I  was   shaken   to  my   core.   I   had   received   training   from  Elijah   House   Ministries   USA,   and   had   been   a   prayer  minister/teacher  there  since  2002.    Much  of  what  we  do   in  prayer  ministry   is  healing   the  heart  and  dealing  with  the  sinful  responses  to  what  has  happened…  but  I  had   never   had   specific   training   in   ministering   to  trauma.   Back   then   there   was   not   a   lot   of   teaching  about  trauma,  (especially  in  the  church)  but  I  felt  that  it  was  the  Lord’s  mandate  to  learn  as  much  as  I  could,  and  to  train  and  equip  the  Church  for  what  is  ahead.

As   the   invitations   have   come   for   Trauma   Seminars,  there   has   been   an   interesting   pattern:   they   are  predominately   nations   in   the   Pacific   Ring   of   Fire.    (Check  out  NZ  on  the  map-‐-‐the  ‘ring  of  fire’  surrounds  us).      I   believe   that   there   is   a   particular   call   to   NZ   to   be  equipped  and  prepared  for  what  is  to  come.  We  have  been  called  ‘for  such  a  time  as  this’.

My   people   are   broken—shattered!—and   they  put   on   Band-‐Aids,   saying,   “It’s   not   so   bad.  You’ll   be   just   fine.”   But   things   are   not   ‘just  fine!’  Jeremiah  6:14  (MSG)
