14 May 2013 Dear Parent / Carer, I am writing to inform you of some changes that will take place over the next few months at Honley High School. At the end of the summer term, after almost three years as Headteacher at Honley and eight years previously as a languages teacher, I have decided for purely personal reasons to move on from headship. I plan to return to my first love in education which was always classroom teaching, in the hope of spending more time with my family. Governors will be running a selection process for my successor during the remainder of the summer term and it is anticipated that a new Headteacher will be in place for January 2014. From September 2013, for the autumn term, Heather Rogers will be Acting Headteacher and has the full support of the Governing Body. I wish everyone in the school and the community well and will look back with fondness at a time that has given me very many happy memories. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the school and our children. With best wishes, Chris Sylge Headteacher
