A Time of Great Deception - By Alice Johnson Childs -http://www.raptureready.com/soap2/childs1.html  "And Jesus answered and said unto them, 'Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many'" (Matthew 24:4-5).  ""For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect" (Matthew 24:27).

  Have you given much thought about the man who currently occupies the "throne of Rome?" I must admit that, until recently (just within the last year) I had not given him more than a cursory look. After all, I am not Catholic, and I know that the Catholic Church is the biggest and most extensive cult there is.    So other than acknowledging his role as the head of that "church," I really did not give his selection any particular credence other than that he might be the last one to sit upon the Roman throne due to the lateness of the prophetic hour. I am now beginning to wonder though, if perhaps Francis of Rome might not have a much more ominous role to play in the events which are about to transpire upon the earth.  Let me hasten to issue a caveat here. I am NOT in any way suggesting that the Pope (whomever he may be) is the Antichrist. In fact, I personally do not believe that ANY Pope is or will be the man of sin spoken of in the Bible. I do, however, think that there is an excellent case that can be made that "A" pope COULD BE the False Prophet - the one who paves the way and who works dark and supernatural deeds FOR the Antichrist.  "And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.    And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.   And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed" (Revelation 13:11-15).  Do you get what the Bible is saying here? There are TWO BEASTS if you will - the political one who will be the Antichrist: the man of sin, the son of perdition - and a second beast who will be the head or leader of what will ultimately be the final form of the one world religion.  This man who appears as a lamb but speaks like a dragon will be the False Prophet. He will be the one who "causeth all, both small and great,

rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand or in their foreheads..." (Revelation 13:16).  Note that I am also not saying that THIS Pope is the one who will be THE False Prophet, only that he very well COULD be, if indeed the False Prophet is affiliated with the Roman Catholic Church in any way.  The current Pope, Jorge Mario Bergoglio, who has taken the name Francis as his papal name, this man, Pope Francis, is a Jesuit. This is highly significant. Pope Francis is the very first Jesuit to be elected as the Supreme Pontiff of the Roman Catholic Church in its entire history. If one studies the formation and history of the Jesuit order, it becomes abundantly clear early on that the Jesuits have had a viscous and powerful role in the history and function of the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church from its (the Jesuit Order's) inception.  Duplicity and deceit, treachery and violence are the hallmarks of the "Society of Jesus" (the Jesuits, the worst appellation ever given to any group because the beliefs and behaviors of the men who have been and still are in this society couldn't be any more divergent from that of the true Jesus of the Bible).  The Society of Jesus was formed to be the militant arm of the Catholic Church, and the deeds done in the name of this so-called "church" are among the most vile and viscous ever perpetrated upon human kind (study the Inquisitions if you want to get an in depth look at the horrors perpetrated upon all those who dared to oppose the iron arm of the Roman Catholic Church and her false and heretical doctrines.) Catholicism itself is the biggest cult and false religion that has ever been, and her history is saturated with the blood of those who stood against its many heresies.  The Church of Rome has always had at its heart, the desire to rule the planet. And, without a doubt, the worldview of this current pope is the worldview of Marxism and Globalism. The plan he has for the Catholic Church of today, in the coming globalist regime, is to play a prominent role in world affairs with himself at the helm of this spiritual "New Age" ecumenical Titanic.  The philosophy and worldview that drives Francis and his agenda is becoming more and more evident as each day passes. As his agenda becomes more fully revealed, the direction he is taking the Catholic Church, it's followers, and the global community as well is becoming more crystallized and defined. 

 Globalism and ecumenism are the goals of this pope, and Communism/Marxism is the vehicle that is being used to bring both pillars, religious and political, of this New World Order into existence. Communism/Marxism/Fascism will be the framework, or infrastructure if you will, that will form the basis for the coming global government as well.  If you wish to know what is in store in the near future, you need look no further than the Pope's upcoming address to the United Nations slated for next month in the United States regarding their new push of the incredibly evil Agenda 2030, which replaces the old, really bad Agenda 21. It is totalitarianism on steroids.    After all, no totalitarian regime can function in freedom. A free republic which allows for the free exchange of ideas, freedom of worship, freedom to teach the truth of history and critical thinking skills to generations of children can never be allowed; for truth and freedom are deadly to tyranny. Freedom of any kind is anathema to tyranny, and the kingdom of the Antichrist will most certainly be the epitome of all totalitarian regimes that will have ever been; for its scope will be massive and global.  It is the Catholic Church that, I believe, is the framework, the skeleton if you will, upon which the "new world religion" will be formed. The new world religion will be at its apex - an ecumenical amalgamation of ALL of the false religions and cults, including the false Laodicean evangelical churches and the vast majority of ALL of the liberal institutional denominations.  They will all come together to build the ultimate religious Frankenstein's monster, the one world religion known as the harlot church in the book of Revelation that will, for a time "ride upon the back" of the political beast-aka the Antichrist and his political system.  Make no mistake; THIS man, Jorge Bergoglio, was carefully chosen. He was relatively unknown, and was not among those prominent in the "line up" of possible successors to the papal throne when Benedict the 16th stepped down.  He literally "came out of the shadows" as it were. He was placed there, by whom you might ask? Well, ultimately by the god of this world (allowed to be placed there by God Almighty) in the position of Supreme Pontiff to do exactly what he is doing, which is to bring everyone, whether they be Catholic, Protestant, pagan, Hindu, Buddhist, atheist, Islamic, or any other people from every religious or non-religious belief system-all "home to Rome" as it were.

  The only thorns in the collective side of the globalists are those of us who follow the Christ of the Bible literally. Those of us who belong to the true remnant church are the great impediment to them being able to complete the ecumenical and political tasks that they so strongly desire to accomplish.  We are "needles in their eyes" who just won't go along with their globalist agendas; those of us who won't toe the line with their all-inclusive, non-judgmental, "let's-just-all-come-to-a consensus" crowd; we, the pesky fundamentalists who insist that: (1) Man is a sinner in need of a Savior. (2) Jesus is that Savior. (3) Jesus is the ONLY way to peace between a holy God and sinful Man.    WE are their biggest problem.  The true Bible believing church crowd stands in the way of the completion of their task, and worse (for them), the true believers are always shining the light of Truth, via the Scriptures that illuminate their evil deeds and intentions and shows them up for what they are-evil.  Oh no, this is the truth that the crowd whose rallying cry is "tolerance" simply cannot tolerate!  God is right now in the process of drawing a great dividing line in time with ALL of the world's religions on one side and the true believing bride of Christ on the other.  "And if it seem evil to you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord' (Joshua 24:15).  Almighty God is shaking the "fence" so to speak, and all those who are straddling that proverbial fence are going to fall onto one side or the other. The Christians in name only (the well-known and the unknown) are being forced into the open, showing where their true allegiances lie, while those who are saved but who have been content just to blend in with the world are quickly losing their protective coloration. They are being forced to take a stand for righteousness.  While it is true that those of us on the remnant side are fewer in number than those who belong to Laodicea, and though we certainly are targets of bullying, ridicule, and outright persecution from the other side, nevertheless

they needn't worry about us. Soon, our Bridegroom will come for His Bride. And we "who are alive and remain," along with all of the dead "in Christ" will be caught up out of this world to meet our Lord in the air! We will finally be out of their hair, which is what they so desperately desire.  When the removal of the remnant church finally occurs, they will all then be free to gather together, arm linked in arm, beneath the tenebrous wings of the Dragon, and sing "Kum ba ya--we will all be as one" until Satan, the one whom the Bible calls "that old serpent," bends his head and devours their souls.  And THIS pope? What might his role be in all of this that is coming in the very near future? Well, we cannot be sure, and we dare not be dogmatic or adamant about what exactly will be his final role in all of this, BUT, it is possible that Francis of Rome may just be the one who will stand poised upon the balcony of the Basilica -- standing there before the audience of the world; a world that has nearly been torn apart by war and natural disasters; a world that is reeling from the unexplained disappearances of MILLIONS of people from every continent on the globe; a world that is terrified and desperate for peace at any price and for a strong decisive leader to protect them from the unprecedented unknown.  Perhaps it will be a pope, maybe even THIS pope, who will one day stand upon the parapet of his palace in Rome with his arms outstretched. Perhaps it will be he who points his finger at the as yet unknown man who will emerge from the shadows and from the clouds of war to become the world leader that those who dwell upon the earth so desire to come. Perhaps this Pope will point to that coming man and cry, "The savior of the world has come!" And the Serpent will smile and hiss his approval, knowing that his time has come around at last.

manipulative foreign policy towards Iran, the news last week of the shadowy Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani visiting Moscow to meet with senior Russian leaders - despite a travel ban and UN Security Council resolutions barring him from leaving Iran - would come as no surprise. According to Western intelligence agencies, on July 24, one week before John Kerry testified to the Senate Armed Services Committee and faced questions about the Iran nuclear deal, Soleimani arrived in Moscow for meetings with Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and President Vladimir Putin. Designated as a terrorist and sanctioned by the U.S. in 2005 for his role as a supporter of international terrorism, Soleimani belongs to a faction of Iran's Revolutionary Guard leadership whose pro-Moscow tendencies are nowhere more conspicuous than their unwavering military support for the dictatorial regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, the closest ally of Russia in the Middle East. However, Moscow has followed a strategic calculation in its policy towards Iran, a major contributor to and directly involved in the unprecedented bloodshed and turmoil in the Islamic world - because Iran is the best Russian entry point to Middle East. From using the Iran card to secure concessions from Western governments by not using its veto power against the UN Security Councils' paralysing economic sanctions on Iran, to calling for a diplomatic resolution of Iran's nuclear crisis, Russia has been manipulating the U.S. As Carly Fiorina said, "Russia has not been negotiating on our side of the table all along. In many ways they have been negotiating on Iran's side of the table." Back in April, President Putin lifted Russia's self-imposed embargo on delivering S-300 surface-to-air missiles to Iran; Tehran signed an $800 million contract for them in 2007. The Russian refusal at the time had more to do with whether Iran was able to pay for the purchase than Moscow's gesture of cooperation with the world community to curb its suspected nuclear program. But now, the tyrannical clerical regime of Iran has $150 billion in its pockets. That is more or less how much the U.S. Treasury Department says Iran will

gain once sanctions are lifted under the nuclear deal. The money comes from Iranian oil sales that have been piling up in international banks over the past few years. But there are questions about what Iran will do with this windfall. "We have no ability to constrain Iran if they want to spend all $100 billion on funding Hezbollah or other terrorist organizations," Mark Dubowitz, the executive director of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies has warned. "But when you're getting a $100 billion-plus cash windfall, even if you're spending 5 to 10 percent of that only on the regional activities and your support for terrorism, that's an extra $5 to $10 billion dollars-plus." China is another country with great interest in seeing the removal of economic sanctions, and Iran's economy becoming open. Tahmaseb Mazaehri, the former Governor of Iran's Central Bank, has described the country's frozen monies for the sale of oil to China as "imprisoned"- and says the Chinese are only willing to return them in exchange for Iran buying their own products. Mousa Servati, the head of the Budget and Economic Planning of Iran's Majles (parliament) has now confirmed that billions of dollars released as a result of the nuclear deal will either end up in the pockets of the military, energy oligarchs of Russia and China, or to Hezbollah, by announcing that "almost the entire amount of all Iran's frozen assets and funds due to the sanctions have already been spent by the government towards its international obligations." It's not hard to see why some countries support the Iran nuclear deal.

Iran Promises to 'Set Fire' to U.S. Interests - Adam Kredo - http://freebeacon.com/national-security/iran-promises-to-set-fire-to-u-s-interests/ A senior Iranian military official has vowed to "set fire" to all U.S. interests in the region and maintained that the Islamic Republic welcomes war with America, according to regional reports demonstrating that Tehran is still committed to fighting the United States in the wake of a recently inked

nuclear accord. "In threatening remarks," a top Iranian commander of the Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that Iran is prepared to "annihilate" U.S. and Israeli war forces should they "take the slightest military move against Iran," according to Iran's state-controlled Fars News Agency. "We monitor their acts day and night and will take every opportunity to set fire to all their economic and political interests if they do a wrong deed," Brigadier General Hossein Salami, the IRGC's lieutenant commander, was quoted as saying in Tehran on Thursday. In a direct threat to both the United States and Israel, Salami promised to "cut off enemies' hands and fingers will then send its dust to the air," according to the report. These Iranian military officials were responding to multiple claims by U.S. officials that a military option against Tehran still remains on the table, despite the recently inked accord, which aims to constrain the Islamic Republic's contested nuclear program. In May, Salami said that Iran desires a war with the United States. "We have prepared ourselves for the most dangerous scenarios and this is no big deal and is simple to digest for U.S.; we welcome war with the U.S. as we do believe that it will be the scene for our success to display the real potentials of our power," he said at the time. The comments came on the say day that the Iranian military unveiled a new missile defense system to track enemy threats. "The system can detect and trace targets, take decisions for the operation of the missile systems, decide about the type of weapon systems needed, assess and foresee hostile targets, and field commanders can easily take a final decision with the data provided by the command and control system," according to Fars. Meanwhile, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on Thursday said that Iran is not open to negotiate with the United States on any other issue outside of the nuclear portfolio. Khamenei "reiterated the complete ban on any negotiation between the Iranian officials and the Americans on other issues, and said there won't be any other talks with the White House, except for the nuclear issue,"

according to Fars. "The U.S. positions are fully against the stances of the Islamic Republic," Khamenei was quoted as saying in a wide-ranging speech. Khamenei also called on the country's leaders to attack U.S. critics of the deal. "In the nuclear talks with are negotiating with the 5+1, but the U.S. administration is, in fact, the main party; but the U.S. officials speak very badly and a decision needs to be taken about the manner they speak," Khamenei told the country's powerful Assembly of Experts. "Don't say that the Americans are uttering these words to convince their internal rivals; of course, I believe that the internal disputes in the U.S. are real and they have differences and the reason for such a difference is clear to us, but what is officially said needs a response and if no response is given to them, the other side's remarks will be entrenched," Khamenei said.

They worked as servants, with many rising to leadership. But then they came so fast they did not learn Latin, but instead created a mix of Latin with their own Germanic, Frankish and Anglo tribal tongues. The unity of the Roman Empire began to dissolve. The welfare state "Bread and the Circus!" Starting in 123 B.C., the immensely powerful Roman politician Gaius Gracchus began appeasing citizens with welfare, a monthly handout of a free dole (handout) of grain. Roman poet Juvenal (circa 100 A.D.) described how Roman emperors controlled the masses by keeping them ignorant and obsessed with self-indulgence, so that they would be distracted and not throw them out of office, which they might do if they realized the true condition of the Empire: "Already long ago, from when we sold our vote to no man, the People have abdicated our duties; for the People who once upon a time handed out military command, high civil office, legions - everything, now restrains itself and anxiously hopes for just two things: bread and circuses." The Durants wrote in "The Lessons of History" (p. 92): "The concentration of population and poverty in great cities may compel a government to choose between enfeebling the economy with a dole or running the risk of riot and revolution." Welfare and government jobs exploded, as recorded in "Great Ages of Man - Barbarian Europe" (NY: Time-Life Books, 1968, p. 39), one Roman

commented: "Those who live at the expense of the public funds are more numerous than those who provide them." Class warfare City centers were abandoned by the upper class, who bought up farms from rural landowners and transformed them into palatial estates. ("Plumb" or "plumbing" is the Latin word for "lead.") The value of human life was low. Slavery and sex-trafficking abounded, especially of captured peoples from Eastern Europe. "Slavs," which meant "glorious," came to have the inglorious meaning of a permanent servant or "slave." ("Great Ages," p. 18) Taxes Taxes became unbearable, as "collectors became greedy functionaries in a bureaucracy so huge and corrupt." Tax collectors were described by the historian Salvian as "more terrible than the enemy." ("Great Ages," p. 20). Arther Ferrill wrote in "The Fall of the Roman Empire: The Military Explanation" (New York: Thames and Hudson Ltd., 1986): "The chief cause of the agricultural decline was high taxation on the marginal land, driving it out of cultivation." There was a loss of patriotism, wealth began to flee the empire, and with it, the spirit of liberty. President William Henry Harrison warned in his inaugural address, 1841: "It was the beautiful remark of a distinguished English writer that 'in the Roman senate Octavius had a party and Antony a party, but the Commonwealth had none' ... The spirit of liberty had fled, and, avoiding the abodes of civilized man, had sought protection in the wilds of Scythia or Scandinavia; and so under the operation of the same causes and influences it will fly from our Capitol and our forums." More recently, John F. Kennedy observed, Jan. 6, 1961: "Present tax laws may be stimulating in undue amounts the flow of American capital to industrial countries abroad."

 Outsourcing Rome's economy stagnated from a large trade deficit, as grain production was outsourced to North Africa. Gerald Simons wrote in "Great Ages of Man - Barbarian Europe" (NY: Time-Life Books, 1968, p. 39): "As conquerors of North Africa, the Vandals cut off the Empire's grain supply at will. This created critical food shortages, which in turn curtailed Roman counterattacks." Debt preceded fall Emperor Diocletian imposed wage and price controls and forbade people from changing professions. Choking taxes and personal debt caused many to abandon their mortgaged property and flee as ex-pats to live amongst the barbarians, renouncing their Roman citizenship. Diocletian responded by making it illegal to abandon one's mortgaged property, thus permanently tying people to the land in what became the "feudal system" in the Middle Ages. Enormous public debt and government bureaucracy crippled Rome's economy. The Durants wrote in "The Lessons of History" (p. 92): "Huge bureaucratic machinery was unable to govern the empire effectively with the enormous, out-of-control debt." In "Great Ages of Man - Barbarian Europe" (NY: Time-Life Books, 1968, p. 20), Gerald Simons wrote: "The Western Roman economy, already undermined by falling production of the great Roman estates and an unfavorable balance of trade that siphoned off gold to the East, had now run out of money." Self-promoting and corrupt politicians The Durants wrote in "The Lessons of History" (p. 92): "The educated and skilled pursued business and financial success to the neglect of their involvement in politics." Richard A. Todd wrote in "The Fall of the Roman Empire" (Eerdmans' "Handbook to the History of Christianity," Grand Rapids, MI: Wm. B. Eerdmans Co., 1977, p. 184): "The church, while preaching against abuses, contributed to the decline by discouraging good Christians from holding public office." Violent entertainment

 The Circus Maximus and Coliseum were packed with crowds of Romans engrossed with violent entertainment, games, chariot races, and until 404 A.D., gladiators fighting to the death. Gerald Simons wrote in "Great Ages of Man - Barbarian Europe" (NY: Time-Life Books, 1968, p. 20): "In the causal brutality of its public spectacles, in a rampant immorality that even Christianity could not check." Exposure of unwanted infants Roman demographics changed as families had fewer children. Some would sell unwanted children into slavery or leave them outside exposed to the weather to die, as was the practice till 374 A.D. The Durants wrote in "The Story of Civilization," Vol. 3 - Caesar and Christ (Simon & Schuster, 1944, p. 134): "Children were now luxuries which only the poor could afford." Immorality  Rome was corrupted with court favoritism, the patronage system, injustice in the legal system, infidelity, perverted bathhouses, sexual immorality, gluttony and gymnasiums ("gym" being the Greek word for "naked"). Fifth century historian Salvian wrote: "For all the lurid Roman tales of their atrocities ... the barbarians displayed ... a good deal more fidelity to their wives." ("Great Ages," p. 13.) Salvian continued: "O Roman people be ashamed; be ashamed of your lives. Almost no cities are free of evil dens, are altogether free of impurities, except the cities in which the barbarians have begun to live. ... Let nobody think otherwise, the vices of our bad lives have alone conquered us. ... The Goths lie, but are chaste, the Franks lie, but are generous, the Saxons are savage in cruelty ... but are admirable in chastity. ... What hope can there be for the Romans when the barbarians are more pure than they?" Samuel Adams wrote to John Scollay of Boston, April 30, 1776: "The diminution of public virtue is usually attended with that of public happiness, and the public liberty will not long survive the total extinction of morals. 'The Roman Empire,' says the historian, 'must have sunk, though the Goths had not invaded it. Why? Because the Roman virtue was sunk.'" 

Military cuts  Though militarily superior and marching on advanced road systems, the highly-trained Roman legions were strained fighting conflicts from the Rhine River to the Sassanid Persian Empire. Roman borders were over-extended and the military defending them was cut back to dangerously low ranks. The Durants wrote in "The Story of Civilization" (Vol. 3 - Caesar and Christ, Simon & Schuster, 1944, p.90): "The new generation, having inherited world mastery, had no time or inclination to defend it; that readiness for war which had characterized the Roman landowner disappeared." Terrorist attacks  Called the "Scourge of God," Attila the Hun was thought to be the anti-Christ, as he devastated Europe with his half-million warriors. Aquileia, one of the largest cities in the world at the time, was so completely destroyed that inhabitants ran into the ocean, hammered down logs and lived on platforms which grew into the city of Venice. Ste. Genevieve called Paris to pray in 451 A.D., and for some reason Attila turned aside, sparing the city. Pope Leo rode out to meet Attila in 452 A.D. and persuaded him not to sack Rome, delaying the city's fall 24 more years. Finally the barbarian Chieftain Odoacer attacked. Rome is considered to have officially fallen on Sept. 4, 476 A.D.

This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report' - Hal Lindsey -www.halindsey.com If you're a regular viewer of "The Hal Lindsey Report," you know that I've hit hard and often on two ideas. One, that times of persecution (and legal prosecution) are headed our way. Two, that the reason for that persecution will be our insistence on pressing the claim of Jesus Christ that He is the only way to salvation and heaven.  As we see the demonic spirit of "political correctness" take firmer hold on all areas of our society, I'm convinced that the decision by true Christians to stand up for Jesus on certain issues and claims will spark an onslaught of derision and discrimination against us. I think those defining issues will include abortion, same sex marriage, parental rights, and the role of God in our national life.  Most importantly, though, I believe it will all come down to the name of Jesus. Already, our military, our schools, our courts, and our governments (we lost the entertainment industry and our universities long ago) are in a mad dash to eliminate any vestige of religious recognition, much less freedom. However, it seems to be only Christ-centered traditions that are

being banished. Islam, humanism, and other religions are, in fact, being celebrated and encouraged in ways Christianity never has.  Just as Jesus Himself warned, the dividing line in the last days will be the name of Jesus. He said that because the world hated Him, it will hate us. He cautioned that true, and faithful, believers will be persecuted "for My name's sake." (John 15:21)  Over the last few years, I've shown you myriad examples of how this exact situation is developing right here in the United States -- and inside some of our most trusted institutions. As a "watchman on the wall," my calling is to declare what I see coming so that you can prepare yourself and your family for those days.  But that preparation should not be haphazard or random. If we are to remain strong in the coming days, months, and years, we must be standing on a firm foundation. To be able to unflinchingly press the claims of Christ in this hostile world, we must make every effort to understand the man who made those claims.  To fully appreciate who Jesus Christ is, we must first understand WHY there needed to be a Jesus Christ. There was a reason for God's provision of a savior and a reason for the path He chose for our redemption. I'll begin this week with an explanation of "Why God Had to Become a Man."  Then we'll start an examination (which I'll continue next week) of "The Man God Became."  The majesty, the beauty, and the sheer complexity of the concept of the God-Man Jesus Christ is almost overwhelming. But it was all necessary to redeem the creation lost to sin at the fall of Adam. Thank God that He loved us so much He provided a "second Adam" to unselfishly take our place. Russia Is Going To Pass A Law Formally Dumping

The U.S. Dollar - By Michael Snyder -http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/russia-is-going-to-pass-a-law-formally-dumping-the-u-s-dollar Russian President Vladimir Putin has introduced legislation that would deal a tremendous blow to the U.S. dollar.  If Putin gets his way, and he almost certainly will, the U.S. dollar will be eliminated from trade between nations that belong to the Commonwealth of Independent States.  In addition to Russia, that list of countries includes Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.  Obviously this would not mean "the death of the dollar", but it would be a very significant step toward the end of the era of the absolute dominance of the U.S. dollar.  Most people don't realize this, but more U.S. dollars are actually used outside of the United States than are used inside this country.  If the rest of the planet decides to stop accumulating dollars, using them to trade with one another, and loaning them back to us at ultra-low interest rates, we are going to be in for a world of hurt.  Unfortunately for us, it is only a matter of time until that happens. When I first read the following excerpt from a recent RT article, I was absolutely stunned... Russian President Vladimir Putin has drafted a bill that aims to eliminate the US dollar and the euro from trade between CIS countries. This means the creation of a single financial market between Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and other countries of the former Soviet Union. "This would help expand the use of national currencies in foreign trade payments and financial services and thus create preconditions for greater liquidity of domestic currency markets", said a statement from Kremlin. For a long time, tensions have been building between the United States and Russia over Syria, Ukraine, the price of oil and a whole host of other issues.  But I didn't anticipate that things would get to this level quite yet.  It is expected that Putin's new bill will become law, and this is only one element of a much larger trend that is now developing. You see, the truth is that Russia and China have both been dumping dollar-denominated assets for months.  The following comes from a recent piece by Mac Slavo... 

Last year Russia began unloading massive amounts of their US dollar reserves. In the month of December 2014 alone Putin sold some 20% of the country's U.S. Treasurys, a move that further increased tensions surrounding what can only be described as economic warfare between East and West. Then, as if part of a coordinated effort, this summer it was revealed that China had implemented a similar strategy, dumping half a trillion in dollar denominated assets. But that's just the beginning of the end for the US dollar. Amid a major meltdown in Chinese stock markets the People's Republic sold off billions in dollar assets last week in what was reported to be an effort to stabilize their collapsing financial markets. And now, as Russia's economy collapses under the weight of American and European sanctions, including what many believe to be widespread downward manipulation of oil prices, Vladimir Putin is sending a clear signal to the central bank of the world's reserve currency. China has the second largest economy on the entire planet, and Russia has the tenth largest.  In recent years, these two superpowers have become much tighter.  For example, just consider this headline from Sputnik News that I came across just today: "Crippling US Foreign Policy Draws Russia, China Closer Together". And I don't know if you have noticed, but U.S. relations with China have turned rather sour lately.  Lots of accusations about spying and trade violations have been flying around, and just this week five Chinese warships were spotted off the coast of Alaska.  In the months ahead, expect our relationship with China to continue to unravel. If China and Russia were to both fundamentally reject the U.S. dollar at some point, much of the rest of the world may choose to follow suit. So why is that important? The fact that most of the nations of the world use our dollars to trade with one another creates a tremendous amount of artificial demand for our currency.  In other words, the U.S. dollar is valued much higher than it otherwise would be just because it is the de facto reserve currency of the planet. As a result, we can import massive amounts of products at super cheap

prices.  When we go to Wal-Mart or the dollar store, we can fill up our carts with lots and lots of ridiculously inexpensive stuff.  Our standard of living is way higher than it actually should be. And because the U.S. dollar is used so widely in global trade, major exporting nations end up with giant piles of our currency which they have been willing to lend back to us at ultra-low interest rates.  This has made it possible to fund our massively bloated federal government and to go 18 trillion dollars in debt. If the rest of the world stops using our dollars and stops playing our game, we will be in a tremendous amount of trouble.  The cost of imported products would absolutely skyrocket and our standard of living would go way down. In addition, the federal government (along with state and local governments) would have to pay much more to borrow money which would rapidly create a gigantic debt crisis. So Russia knows where they could really hurt us.  Most of the "power" that America currently projects around the world is based on having the de facto reserve currency of the planet.  If you take our financial power away, we would be far, far less imposing on the global stage.  Sadly, the truth is that the U.S. military is rapidly shrinking and has largely been defanged by the Obama administration. A lot of people that will read this article will not understand this, but it is very, very important to keep an eye on this emerging Russian/Chinese alliance.  I believe that it is going to play a critical role in world events during the years ahead.

The murder on live TV of two human beings whose lives mattered? Casual luncheon discussion about the cutting up and sale of the body parts of babies whose lives mattered not because of their achievements but because of their intrinsic worth? The slaughter of people in a Charleston church prayer meeting whose lives mattered? Then there's another scale to weigh the present agony: Iran getting a nuclear bomb; the unspeakable atrocities of people believing they are acting under divine authority; a secularist rage to push free religious expression to the very edge of culture, and then eliminate it altogether; mayhem in the streets; hate-driven strife; the collapse of marriage, and with it the family, the fundamental institution for civilizing a society; and apostasy in many churches. Oh, and did I mention the Supreme Court of the United States mimicking Lucifer's primordial sin of trying to push God aside and off His throne when the judges' presumed to "reimagine" marriage away from the biblical model? Apocalyptic, all of it. "Apocalupsis" is New Testament Greek for "unveiling." The Apocalypse is the Book of Revelation. There Jesus Christ lifts the curtain on human history, and shows the Apostle John the meaning of the past, the implications of the present, and the panoply of the future. John writes it down and says it's good for us to read it all. So what's behind that curtain? People everywhere are asking that question these days. Others want to avoid it because the thought of "apocalypse" is terrifying to them. However, there is also some very good news behind the curtain of history. According to the Bible and the historical record itself, all this apocalyptic tragedy is pointing to the coming of revival and harvest. Charles Finney, the early nineteenth century American revivalist, wrote that revival "presupposes declension." "Before every revival in history, deteriorating conditions have been evident in secular society and among God's people," report Professors Malcolm McDow and Alvin L. Reid in their book, Firefall, a sweeping study of revivals globally throughout history. In general society prior to revival, McDow and Reid found that human-centeredness displaces God-centeredness. Leadership lacks quality and

itself becomes desperate for direction. Men and women rationalize that even if there is a God they do not need His forgiveness or redemption. People follow the imaginations of their own hearts, counter to the Mind of Christ. A majority of those who believe in God primarily think that God is there to serve them rather than the other way around. Many feel that God, the Bible, Church, are no longer relevant for the contemporary technology-driven age. Each human decides how he or she should approach spirituality, based on subjective experience and self-created opinion. There is a total rejection of God's transcendent authority and the sense of accountability that goes with it. People are alienated from God, and there is a huge spiritual hole at the center of their lives that they try to fill up with whatever they can. There is also "declension" in the church leading up to the outbreak of revival, found McDow and Reid. Spiritual deadness characterizes many churches. Lethargy permeates those congregations - they are neither hot nor cold (the Laodicean condition), and there is even skepticism about God, biblical inspiration and authority, the sinfulness of the human, and the nature of salvation. Many churches in the age leading up to revival are human-focused and consumerist. Worship is focused more on how God meets the needs of humans rather than the transcendent awesomeness of God. Through compromise with the world's values, churches become impotent and irrelevant in the attempt to appear "with it." Church doctrines drift with society's tides. Ritual and form become substitutes for true spiritual vitality. Evangelism declines. As bad as all this is, it is actually the precursor to revival. "The wave of spiritual progress recedes, but even in receding it is gathering in power and volume to return, and to rush further" in its progress toward God, wrote James Burns. The nature of this revival and harvest is like what residents along Alabama's Mobile Bay call "Jubilee." This is the name given a rare phenomenon when all the aquatic life in the Bay suddenly stampedes for shore. Someone spots the rush of fish and shouts, "Jubilee!" The message goes up and down the Eastern Shore. People drop everything, and grab the nearest bucket, box, sack that might hold the catch. Seasoned Jubileers know the characteristics: the rush of the aquatic

harvest will be sudden; everything out there will come in - the good, the bad, the ugly; only those prepared to receive the harvest will get it. Call it the "end-times revival," the "great jubilee harvest," or whatever, but these are the same elements to which the Church needs to pay attention in getting ready for the harvest. She must recognize that all through the Bible and history, revival and awakening have suddenly broken out in the least expected places. The church must get herself mentally prepared to receive all that's out there in the culture who might flood her doors - the down-and-out, the smug upper crust, tattooed kids with strangely colored hair, old grumps, LBGT sinners, heterosexual sinners, ex-cons, future cons, addicts, abusers, ignoramuses, academics whose ivory towers are crumbling, barkeeps, abortionists, gang members, recovering atheists, agnostics who finally made up their mind, religionists weary of trying to placate a perpetually disgruntled deity, and everything else.  And finally, to get ready for the revival harvest, churches must prepare now the receptacles for the harvest - the ministries that will be filled with needy, spiritually hungry people. Stand on the shore and get ready. Crisis and testing are ahead, but so are revival and harvest.

Daily Jot: US Culture War--jailed for religious beliefs - Bill Wilson - www.dailyjot.com The clash between the First Amendment and judicial activism has come to a boil as Morehead, Kentucky, Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis has been sent to jail for not issuing same sex marriage licenses. The judge says she is breaking the law in defying his court order to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. He has ordered her incarcerated until she changes her mind. Davis, an elected official, is required to discharge her duties as an officer of the state. She is experiencing the power of government in this situation because it is the law of the land that same sex couples can marry. But it is not the law of the land, far from it. And in this, is where Davis may have a chance to get out of jail.

 Laws in the United States follow a process. Many states outlawed same sex marriage through the legal or referendum process. The Supreme Court stretched and twisted the Constitution to create a law from the bench to require all states to marry same sex couples. It is no different than the way abortion was legalized. No law was voted on by elected representatives of the people. The Constitution also says that if an item is not enumerated in the Constitution it is reserved for the individual states or for the people to decide. The Constitution's remedy for no law is to kick the question back to the states or the people--not to allow the Supreme Court to make law where there is no law.  Same sex marriage is not in the Constitution. It should be a state issue or a people issue. The Supreme Court, some of which are homosexual or homosexual activists (two I know of performed same sex civil unions or marriages before the vote), overstepped its bounds by making law. This created two problems in the very least--redefining marriage and undermining the First Amendment guarantees of religious freedom and free speech. The case in Rowan County underscores this. Because of personal religious beliefs, Kim Davis is sitting in jail. OR because Kim Davis refuses to execute her job as a government representative according to the law of the land, she is sitting in jail.  The way these lawyers and government activists will get past the First Amendment is by saying your religious beliefs cannot compel you to break the law. You can't say (at least currently), for example, I am allowed to murder someone because of my religious beliefs (does Islam come to mind?). You have to abide by the law. This is how the First Amendment will be undermined by the homosexual agenda. You have the right to worship how you want or say what you want so long as it isn't standing against homosexual marriage because it is now the law of the land. It wasn't law, it was judicial activism. But it is perceived as law. This is the real war. Your rights as a Christian are at stake. Put on the full armor of God that as Ephesians 6:11 says, "you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."

And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. -1 John 3:2-3 C. H. Spurgeon said, "It is a very blessed thing to be on the watch for Christ, it is a blessing to us now. How it detaches you from the world! You can be poor without murmuring; you can be rich without worldliness. . . . untold blessings are wrapped up in the glorious hope." The Bible says that "faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead" (James 2:17). If watching for the Lord's return is the evidence of faith, then working is the evidence of faith in action. We are not only to be anxiously awaiting Christ's return, but we are to be working. Watching will help us prepare our own lives, but working will assure that we bring others with us. Jesus said there is a blessedness in living this way: "Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching" (Luke 12:37). Another way to translate the word blessed as it's used in this verse is "happy." In other words, "Happy are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching." In contrast to the servant who watches and works, there is the unprepared servant. Jesus continued, "But if that servant says in his heart, 'My master is delaying his coming,' and begins to beat the male and female servants, and to eat and drink and be drunk, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the unbelievers" (verses 45-46). Watching and waiting for the return of Christ isn't a miserable, repressive, or confining way to live. Rather, it is a happy, joyful, and purposeful way of life.
