It was great to see so many parents and family members in school today for the harvest service

and we have an amazing collection of cakes for the community social lunch this Sunday. The

community hall committee are very grateful for such a fantastic spread! Our PTA have also been

busy with the final preparations for the Halloween Disco next Thursday (6pm till 7pm) which the

children are all looking forward to. I’m sure you’ll

all be having fun pumpkin carving this weekend! Thank you for all the hard work that is going into

this fun evening.

Parents evening appointments have now been sent out for next week - please don't hesitate to

contact the office to clarify or change the appointment.

Dosbarth Un had a wild time at the Jambori

on Tuesday. They sang all their favourite

Welsh songs together with lots of other

children from all over the county. They all

behaved impeccably and did Ysgol Gellifor

Top Trumps

This term’s topic has been Space, Earth and Beyond and the children have been busy learning about the planets, sun, moon and the great space race. Using the information they have been gathering, the children decided that they wanted to make their own top trumps cards based on their theme. They have had lots of fun playing the game. All schools in Denbighshire will be closed on Friday 26th June 2020 due to a training day for teachers on the new curriculum. Crew Celf - Year 5&6 Please find attached information about the Crew Celf. If you child’s submitted work is chosen, he/she will have the opportunity to work with local artists. The cost would be £38. Community Lunch The hall committee members have organised a community lunch event on Sunday 20th October from 1pm till 3pm with live music, craft activities, food, cakes and refreshments. The school’s very own Gellifor Vocals will be performing too! Tickets are £5 each with children going free. This will prove to be a great community event with the money raised going to further support the maintenance of the hall. Llandyrnog Eisteddfod The Llandyrnog Eisteddfod is on Friday 15th November at 5pm. Children will be learning their poems in class next week and should all have brought home their copy to practice for all those who wish to enter. Ruthin Library Please see attached poster regarding a book sale in Ruthin library. PTA Halloween Competition You child has been given a paper plate to decorate, please return on the night of the disco - the £3 entry will cover all the refreshments and competitions (please pay on the night).
