Each client has it’s own identity and needs. To transform the clients needs to a brand/online strategy, art direction, graphic design and illustration I unravel a clients identity. This proces is about dialogue, communication and honesty. Next to these structured pro-cesses I like to work in a more intuitive way. To express my own thoughts and identity I’m always working on expositioning, teaching workshops, creating visually interesting objects or looking for funny stuff to entertain you through my blog. These two worlds are combined in Head&Tail. The thoughtfulness of the head is combined with the playfulness of the tail. Strategic and intuitive design in balance.

HEAD&TAIL
DH3 MAGAZINENetherlands based ‘Dubleau’ is a creative collective with ongoing experimental sounds and images. We teamed up to do a pitch for ‘Stroom’ magazine. Stroom is a center for non-museum art and architecture.
DE HOEDERYet again Joost van der Wiel use his heart and soul to make this beautiful documentary. This time, its about the 92-year-old practitioner Nico van Hasselt who still, after 60 years, does his day-to-day check ups on his patients. He watch-es over them with lots of personal attention and tremendous care. Dispite the changes in the healthcare sector he made a promise never to abandon his patients. Nico is the centrepiece of the movie poster. He looks towards the fu-ture with a warm glow surrounding him, for he is only 92 years old!

ACTION SPORTS FOR DEVELOPMENT AND PEACEASDP asked us to design their new identity and website. ASDP is an online platform for all of those involved or interested in the power and potential of action sports for creating positive social change. It aims to create an interna-tional knowledge community - a space for sharing news and knowledge across sites and sports. Engage in constructive dialogue about the most pressing issues facing this field.

CAMPAIGN FINAL SHOW ROYAL ACADEMY OF ARTSDuring my time at Studio KABK I did this campaign for The Royal Academy of Art (KABK) graduation exhibition. The annual graduation exhibition shows works of approximately 200 recently graduated students of all disciplines. All these disciplines come together in the graduation catalog. The different graphical elements represent the different disciplines of the academy.
PATTERN DESIGNThis is my research into pattern design. The patterns are not made for a specific medium they are great to use on all kinds of different designs.
STRAWBERRY EARTH FAIR CAMPAIGNI was asked to design the new campaign for straw-berry earth fair. During this fair in Amsterdam you can see the latest sustainable technology and design. As a visitor you can participate with the exhibitors during workshops and tastings. This years theme was curated by nature. The monkey was the first animal to craft tools for everyday use. This primitive designers are the main ele-ment in the campaign.

WHEN THE BEARS COME‘Als de beren komen’ asked me to design their corporate identity. In addition to having a great name, they also make entertaining, accessible, surprising, sexy, raw and grounded text-theatre.
CHRISSY BAGSIDENTITY DESIGNChrissy bags is based in Amsterdam though with a total love for tropical temperatures the production is done on Bali, Indonesia. If she could, she would travel to the moon and back.
Every item has a feminine style with a masculine touch to it.It is this duality that I translated to her brand identity. Dark versus light, feminine versus masculine, the good versus the bad.
‘RAAK’IDENTITY DESIGNIn commission by Raak grafisch ontwerp I designed their new cor-porate identity. Their old designs used a dot which I reused it in the new designs. I wanted a logo that represents their character; striking, effective, literally and figuratively (raak means striking in english).
‘PRISMA’SPECIAL EDITION DICTIONARYIn commission by Raak grafisch ontwerp I designed the new covers for the Prisma dictionaries. The design is aimed at youngsters and never looked this sharp and intens!
HOW TO SURVIVE In this survival guide on ‘How to survive The Hague’ international students will find 13 chapters covering the most important information on how to find your way to and from the Royal Acade-my of Art. It also includes lots of practical information on health, housing, finance and much more. Made during my time at the Studio KABK.
TEXTILE&FASHION Promotional fold out brochure/poster made for the textile&fashion department of the KABK. Made during my time at the Studio KABK.
GUP NEW PHOTOGUP New is a catalogue featuring the best 100 emerging Dutch photographers of 2012 and 2013. In collaboration with photog-rapher Frederike van Dorst these pictures came to life. I made the ‘dog jacket’ in the pictures for ARTEFFECTS EXPO in Canvas Amsterdam (2012) and FLEXPO Tilburg (2013).
‘DE NIEUWE K’De Nieuwe K is the ‘newspaper’ of the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague and the University of Leiden. It covers all the latest news about students/alumni and teachers and there en-deavours. Made during my time at the Studio KABK.
PLAYTIME MOVIE POSTERPromotional poster for the film program PLAY / TIME, an overview of the ‘classics’ in film history. Every fortnight a new movie was shown for all the students of the KABK.
DUTCH CARNAVALI made these crazy suits right before the celebration of the Dutch carnaval.
WOODY SKATEBOARDS ICONWoody Skateboards are made from 100% locally grown wood. Capitalism was the only one who wanted the trees to be cut down, Woody want-ed to turn them into something beautiful. Each tree is well documented so you know which tree you’re cruising on! Woody Skateboards ask me to do the graphic design for the brand. Next to designing a mascot for his boards and shirts I also did the flyers and certificates. This mascot wants to bring the wood back to the streets, he is not a fan of plastic. LITTLE NEW ORLEANS FESTIVALKlein New Orleans is a street music festival in the hart of Utrecht, with lots of blues, soul food and drinks. The ‘breedstraatbuurt’ is a neighborhood with a bumpy history full of hookers and drug dealers but with good artistic vibes. I designed the posters and t-shirts. During the festival I did some live screen printing. The figures in the poster and t-shirts reflect the ‘laissez les bons temps rouler’ attitude of the New Orleanians.
UNDERWORLDThis is what you get if you stare at your fish every day.Risograph is a high-speed digital printing system man-ufactured by the Riso Kagaku Corporation and was designed mainly for high-volume photo-copying and printing. I like the roughness of the printing technique.
