    • Water use in campus is important indicator in

    Greenmetric.

    • Water cluster aims to collect data on water use

    and synergize efforts in managing water through

    decrease water usage, increase water conservation

    program, and protect the habitat.

    • UiTM is commited to provide sustainability

    solutions for water management crisis and

    develop effective policies towards effective water

    usage.

    1. To create awareness on the important of water education andmanagement

    2. To encourage campus community to reduce water usage andincrease water conservation programs

  • [WR4.1] Water Conservation Program Implementation

    • For Water Conservation Program Implementation, two sub-indicators have been identified.

    1. Rain water harvesting system

    Three (3) Final Year Project (FYP) conducted study on the rainwater harvesting system

    2. Rain water harvesting unit (landscape unit)

    One (1) unit of rain harvesting system has been identified at theUiTM landscape Unit. The rain water is used for wateringplants. It has been implemented since 2010 and it stillfunctioning as alternative source of water for landscape activity

    • Awareness and education campaign for water conservation

  • [WR4.3] Water Efficient Appliances Usage (e.g. hand washing taps, toilet flush, etc.)

    1. To control volume of water in air-conditioning system.

    Auto-sensor to control volume and flow of water in the chiller and air-conditioning systems. This system is very significant to control temperature ofbuilding. For example, UiTM has implemented this system in the DATC building

    2. To control volume of water from Syarikat Air Selangor to pump houseUiTM

    Additional appliances is added at the connected pipe between water fromSYABAS and pump house. During the semester break, this appliance isactivated to control volume of water flow into the pump house because thenumber or consumers (students) are decreasing.

    3. Install low and dual flush model

    UiTM Shah Alam has installed low and dual flush model in several faculties.This system significantly control volume of water.
