MARY AND MARTHA
Jesus and his disciples were traveling and came to a village. A woman named Martha opened her
home to Jesus. Martha had a sister named Mary who sat at Jesus’ feet and listened to what he
said.
Martha was busy taking care of all of the preparations that had to be made. Martha was upset that
Mary was not helping. Martha wanted Jesus to tell Mary to help with the chores.
Jesus replied, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing
is needed. Mary has chosen what is better and it will not be taken away from her.”
(For more details, please read Luke 10:38-42 in the Bible.)
